By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

5 GOLD RINGS (NBC, New!) - ITV Entertainment and Talpa Media are spearheading a new game show at the Peacock which "takes its title from the rings given each player as they answer questions over five levels. Viewers can connect to the game via smartphone, playing along on a mini-version of the LED floor." The former's David Eilenberg will presumably executive produce. (Deadline.com)
CHI, THE (Showtime) - Jacob Latimore and Yolonda Ross have both been cast in the upcoming drama. She'll play Jada, "a full-time nurse/caregiver and single mother to her reckless, but charming son Emmett, played by Latimore." Ross replaces Aisha Hinds, while Latimore replaces Tequan Richmond, who played the roles in the original pilot. (Deadline.com)
GET, THE (CBS, New!) - Bridget Carpenter ("11.22.63") has booked a pilot order from the Eye for a new drama about "a team of tireless Internet journalists who pursue and expose stories of injustice using their unconventional investigative techniques in today's anything-goes world of reporting." CBS Television Studios is producing. (Deadline.com)
LINDA FROM HR (FOX) - The single-camera comedy from writers Geoff Barbanell and Itai Grunfeld has been issued a cast-contingent pilot order. Aaron Kaplan, Tracy Katsky and Dana Honor also executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television, Kat Co. and Kapital Entertainment. The logline is as follows: "All it takes is one bad decision to throw Linda from HR's monotonous, unfulfilled life into an exciting but dangerous tailspin of balancing work life, home life and a secret that could unravel everything."
MR. MERCEDES (Audience) - Mary-Louise Parker is set to recur on the newcomer as Janey Patterson, "the younger sister of the late Olivia Trelawney. Janey's no-nonsense but charming attitude radiates, as does her physical beauty. She's emotionally mature, strong-willed and totally winning." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GABRIEL IGLESIAS PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Comedian Gabriel Iglesias ("The Fluffy Shop") is back in business with the Alphabet for a new comedy about "a commitment-phobe bachelor who reconnects with his friend who has just broken up with the woman he has been with since pre-school." Taylor Hamra penned the half-hour for CBS Television Studios and Ryan Seacrest Productions with Ryan Seacrest, Nina Wass, Andrea Shay, Joe Meloche, Jay Lavender, Anthony Edwards and Cheryl Dolins also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MARVEL ACTION-ADVENTURE SERIES (FOX) - The network has given a pilot order to the drama, which focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. Writer Matt Nix as well as Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television.
