Starz to Binge the Second Installment of the Limited Series "The Missing" Beginning February 12

Preview of Series Premiere Episode Available for Free Sampling February 6

One of the "25 Most Anticipated TV Shows of 2017" - Rolling Stone

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Starz announced today that all eight episodes of the Golden Globe(R) and Emmy(R) award-nominated thriller "The Missing" will be made available for STARZ subscribers on the STARZ app and streaming services, as well as STARZ ON DEMAND simultaneously with its network premiere on Sunday, February 12.

Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht said, "The STARZ series 'The Girlfriend Experience' and 'Flesh and Bone' experienced considerable growth in binge watching over the course of their seasons, and we believe the same success will hold true for 'The Missing.' The thriller aspect of the season is such an adrenaline rush, that we believe many viewers will want to watch more than one episode at a time. It's truly addictive storytelling."

Named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the "25 Most Anticipated TV Shows of 2017," "The Missing" is written by Harry and Jack Williams ("One of Us," "Fleabag") and solely directed by Ben Chanan ("The Last Kingdom," "Cyberbully"). Produced by New Pictures in association with Two Brothers Pictures and Playground for BBC One and Starz, the 8-episode limited series introduces a new case with new characters in a new location.

The premiere episode of "The Missing" second installment will also be available in a free, nationwide preview on February 6, nearly one week prior to the season premiere on Sunday, February 12 on STARZ. The episode will be available to STARZ subscribers via the STARZ app and STARZ ON DEMAND, online at Starz.com and through participating U.S. cable, satellite and telco affiliates as well as participating OTT partners beginning Monday, February 6 at 12:01 AM ET through February 12.

Future episodes of the highly-anticipated limited series will premiere weekly at 8:00 ET/PT on STARZ airing every Sunday night through April 2. All eight episodes of "The Missing" will be available exclusively for STARZ subscribers on the STARZ app and STARZ ON DEMAND beginning February 12 at 12:01 AM ET.

About "The Missing"

The anthology series follows parents Sam (David Morrissey) and Gemma Webster (Keeley Hawes), whose daughter, Alice, went missing in 2003. Eleven years later, a young British woman stumbles through the streets of her German hometown and announces herself as Alice Webster (Abigail Hardingham), the girl who went missing over a decade prior. Alice's sudden return causes ripples of suspicion through the small community, especially when it is revealed she may hold vital clues to the whereabouts of another missing girl, Sophie Giroux, who vanished shortly before Alice. Haunted by the unsolved Giroux case, French detective Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo) is motivated out of retirement to follow new information that Alice may have on Sophie's disappearance. Told across three timelines, flitting between 2014 and the present day, we follow Alice's family as they are thrown into a turmoil that threatens to tear them apart at the seams.

The first installment of "The Missing" premiered on STARZ in 2014 and was hugely successful among viewers and critics, receiving two Golden Globe(R) award nominations and one Emmy(R) award nomination. The limited series also received four BAFTA(R) Television Award nominations and a nomination Critics' Choice(R) Television Awards.
