GIRL MEETS WORLD (Disney Channel) - The show's writers have taken to Twitter with the news a new venue for the show could not be found following its cancellation by Disney Channel. (@GMWWriters)
HIS WIVES & DAUGHTERS/VARSITY BLUES (CMT) - The cable channel has passed on both projects. The former - a one-hour comedic series centering on the eclectic and cunning wives and daughters of larger-than-life country music legend and infamous womanizer, Eddie Ray Banks - completed a pilot while the latter - a small screen take on his cult 1999 football movie - was still in the script stage. (Deadline.com)
PHILIP K. DICK'S ELECTRIC DREAMS (Amazon) - Anna Paquin and Terrence Howard are the latest actors bound for the anthology series. They'll appear in the same installment, "Real Life," about "a policewoman (Paquin) living in the future who shares headspace with a brilliant game designer (Howard), as each pursues violent killers whose plans could have shattering consequences." (Deadline.com)
STRANGER THINGS (Netflix) - Will Chase has been tapped for a recurring role on its sophomore run as Neil Mayfield, "the father of a family of recent transplants to Hawkins Indiana from California." (TVLine.com)
SUN RECORDS (CMT) - CMT's head of development Jayson Dinsmore has indicated there are no plans for additional episodes of the series: "It always was to be a limited-run series. It did extremely well but there are no current plans for additional episodes. We may revisit you never know because it did quite well." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED DEVITO & GOLDBLUM PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - Danny DeVito and Jeff Goldblum are set to topline a potential comedy at the streaming service about "an iconic music duo from the past, Matt Downey (Goldblum) & Arlo Finkleman (DeVito), who are forced to reunite despite their longstanding hatred for each other." Tim Long is penning the half-hour for Amazon Studios with DeVito and his son, Jake DeVito, executive producing alongside Imagine Television's Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. (Deadline.com)
