ABC Picks Up New Seasons of Hit Alternative Series "AFV," "The Bachelor," "Child Support" and "Dancing with the Stars"

ABC PICKS UP NEW SEASONS OF HIT ALTERNATIVE SERIES 'AFV,' 'THE BACHELOR,' 'CHILD SUPPORT' AND 'DANCING WITH THE STARS'

ABC announced today that the network has picked up new seasons of four alternative series: the 29th season of "AFV," 23rd season of "The Bachelor," 27th season of "Dancing with the Stars" and second season of "Child Support." AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS

Hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, "America's Funniest Home Videos" is the longest-running primetime entertainment show in the history of ABC. Each week, the AFV team evaluates thousands of user-submitted home videos to bring you America's real-life funny moments captured on video.

"AFV" offers a weekly $10,000 first place prize to the funniest or most unique video as voted upon by the in-studio audience. Those prize winners then move on to the next competition round where they vie for a $100,000 prize. At the end of the season, the $100,000 prize winners compete for a grand prize vacation package. In its 28 seasons to date, "AFV" has given away over $15 million in prize money and evaluated nearly 2 million videotapes from home viewers.

"AFV" has become an iconic part of American pop culture, as evidenced by its inclusion in the Smithsonian's permanent entertainment collection. Today, "AFV" is syndicated in over 103 territories around the world, spreading American humor and clumsiness across the globe!

ABC's broad-appealing "AFV" is the No. 1 show in family co-viewing on the major networks this season, with 31.4% of the show's Adult 18-49 viewers watching with a Teen 12-17 and/or Kid 2-11 present.

THE BACHELOR

ABC's "The Bachelor," a pop-culture sensation, has encouraged millions of viewers for over two decades to find their own fairytale romances while the original hit primetime romance reality series continues to offer unpredictable, sexy, emotional, over-the-top fun. The relaxed format guarantees more "OMG," jaw-dropping moments. "The Bachelor" featured its 22nd season finale on Monday, March 5, leading ABC to win the night in Adults 18-49 over "The Voice"-led NBC. In addition, ABC dominated Monday's prime with Adults 18-34, beating NBC by 67% with "The Bachelor" as the night's No. 1 TV show. Featuring a big turnout for "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" on Tuesday, March 6, ABC nearly caught perennial Tuesday leader NBC in Adults 18-49 (with just 2-tenths of a rating point between the two networks), while winning the night outright among Adults 18-34. "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" ran within 1-tenth of a rating point with NBC's "This Is Us" as Tuesday's No. 1 TV show in Adults 18-49 and ranked No. 1 among Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49).

CHILD SUPPORT

"Child Support" is a one-hour studio-based series from Golden Globe(R) and Emmy(R) Award-Winning Ricky Gervais and Banijay Studios North America. The series features adult contestants and priceless interactions between funnyman Ricky Gervais and a group of five kids who say the most unpredictable things.

Hosted by Fred Savage, contestants are asked to answer 10 questions correctly to earn the top prize. If they answer incorrectly, the contestants have a chance to be saved by the five kids who have been asked the same question by Gervais.

The series was created by Banijay Studios North America and is executive produced by Ricky Gervais, David Goldberg, Caroline Baumgard and Jeff Krask. The series is produced by Banijay Studios North America.

DANCING WITH THE STARS

Hosted by two-time Emmy-winning host Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, "Dancing with the Stars" is the hit series in which celebrities perform choreographed dance routines that are judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts.

On three of its final four Monday telecasts during the fall, "DWTS" stood as the night's No. 1 unscripted program in Total Viewers, beating NBC's "The Voice." In addition, on its fall finale, "DWTS" drew its biggest audience and matched its best young adult rating since its season premiere.

"Dancing with the Stars" is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Andrew Llinares and Ashley Edens-Shaffer are executive producers.
