MARCO PIGOSSI COMES TO NETFLIX

São Paulo - June, 21st, 2018 - Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, announces Brazilian actor Marco Pigossi has joined Netflix for a series of projects.

With a prolific career in both television and theater, the 29-year-old actor was launched into stardom in 2010 with his portrait of Cssio in the soap opera "Caras e Bocas". Since then he has been bringing life to leading roles in various Brazilian hits and now ventures into a broader canvas: the actor will also star two upcoming series at Netflix, presenting his work to millions of people around the world in the 190 countries where the platform is available.

Marco Pigossi joins the main cast of Tidelands, a supernatural crime drama, and the first Australian Netflix original series. The project is also a first in Pigossi's career, being his debut in acting in English.

Later in the year, back in Brazil, Pigossi lands the leading role in Netflix Brazilian Original live-action series Invisible Cities, created and directed by renowned Brazilian filmmaker Carlos Saldanha. The series, that will have its production started by the end of 2018, portrays an underground world inhabited by mythical creatures evolved from a deep lineage of Brazilian folklore.

"We are thrilled to have a talent like Marco Pigossi joining Netflix. Marco has had such an influence on Brazilian culture, and we couldn't be more excited to be apart of his journey to reach and entertain a global audience.", says Tesha Crawford, Netflix's Director of International Originals Content.

"This is a great moment for me, embracing the opportunity as an actor to live the plurality and creative challenges that a partnership with Netflix presents. To have this cultural exchange and film with actors and crew from different nationalities is a huge learning, even more knowing that people all around the world will watch the result. And now also having the privilege of working in my own country with such an amazing creator as Carlos Saldanha. It is an amazing opportunity!" says Marco Pigossi.
