ARE YOU SLEEPING (Apple) - Moon Bloodgood, Billy Miller, Brett Cullen and Hunter Doohan have all booked roles on the Octavia Spencer/Lizzy Caplan-led drama. Bloodgood will play Cath Min, "Poppy's (Spencer) best friend"; with Miller as Alex Dunn, "Lanie's (Caplan) husband"; Cullen as Owen Cave, "Warren Cave's (Aaron Paul) father"; and Doohan as "a younger Warren Cave." CATHERINE THE GREAT (HBO) - Jason Clarke has been cast in the Helen Mirren-led limited series as Grigory Potemkin, "a Russian military commander who became Catherine's lover, favored statesman and life-long friend. Amid scandal, intrigue and immense conflict, they develop a unique and devoted relationship, overcoming their adversaries and together serving as the architects of modern-day Russia." (Deadline.com)
OATH, THE (Sony Crackle) - The show's sophomore run has added the following actors in recurring roles: Dilshad Vadsaria as Anaya Gil, "who runs the U.S. faction of the Indo-Canadian Organized Crime"; Sebastian Zurita as Ricardo Velasquez, "the only son of Ignacio, who was raised in the shadow of his father"; Erik King as Pastor Greg, "Amber's father, and a self-reformed man who plans on helping those in the neighborhood still in the life"; J. Anthony Pena as Carl Ortiz, "a current cop gang member and owner of the bar the Ravens frequent"; Richard Burgi as Nathan Andrews, "a stone cold DEA agent"; Rich Paul as Eli Briggs, "the leader of a ruthless cop gang named the Horsemen"; and Carlos Sanz as Ignacio Velasquez, "a leader of the Costa Oeste Cartel." QUEEN AMERICA (Facebook Watch) - Jennifer Westfeldt and Victoria Justice have both snagged roles on the Catherine Zeta-Jones-led series as Mandy Green, "the reigning pageant coach from Texas and Vicki's lifelong nemesis"; and Hayley, "Vicki's beautiful yet spoiled protégé, who has been primed since age 12 to be a beauty queen," respectively. STARGIRL (DC Universe, New!) - Geoff Johns is spearheading a small screen take on his DC Comics heroine at the upcoming streaming service, about "high school student Courtney Whitmore who bands together with the Justice Society of America to fight villains, past and present." The 13-episode series is set up at the Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter likewise executive producing alongside Johns via his Mad Ghost Productions banner. (Deadline.com)
STATION 19 (ABC) - Boris Kodjoe will recur on the show's sophomore run as "a seasoned firefighter with a mysterious past. His character is returning to Seattle FD after some time away, bringing with him new skills, new perspectives and an approach to the job that doesn't always fall in line with the members of Station 19." UNTITLED ARSENE LUPIN PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Omar Sy (The Intouchables) has been tapped to play Arsène Lupin, "the world famous gentleman thief and master of disguise," in a French original series for the streaming service due in 2020. Gaumont Television is behind the project, billed as a "contemporary adaptation of the novels penned by French writer Maurice LeBlanc, who created the character in 1905." Isabelle Degeorges is producing. No other auspices were given. (Deadline.com)
