FROM THE DIRECTOR OF "QUICKSAND" COMES "HOME FOR CHRISTMAS," A NEW NORWEGIAN ORIGINAL SERIES FROM NETFLIX

Drama comedy starring Ida Elise Broch, Felix Sandman, Kingsford Sayor and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen

Oslo -- March 22, 2019 -- Netflix today announced Home for Christmas, a brand new Norwegian Netflix original series from Per-Olav Sørensen, the director of Quicksand and Nobel. Ida Elise Broch, known from Lilyhammer and Det tredje øyet, is starring in the lead role and Felix Sandman (Quicksand), Kingsford Sayor and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen are playing her love interests.

Johanne finds herself at 30 years old to be the only one among friends and family without a partner. The constant comments on her single life and society's expectations of the perfect family Christmas finally gets to her. Johanne starts a 24 day hunt for a partner to bring home for Christmas.

The six episode Norwegian language series also features cast such as Ghita Nørby, Christian Ruud Kallum, Dennis Storhøi, Anette Hoff, Iselin Shumba, Ulrikke Døvigen, Samantha Gurah, Bjørn Skagestad, Helga Guren, Ragnhild Myntevik, Nader Khademi, Hkeem, Henrik Horge, Ole Christoffer Ertvaag, Line Verndal, Stian Blipp, Sofie Frøysaa, Herbert Nordrum, Jakob Schøyen Andersen, Sajid Malik, Audun Sandem and Rebekka Nystabakk. Production started in Røros, Norway in March 2019.

Home for Christmas is directed by Per-Olav Sørensen, and co-directed by Anna Gutto. Screenwriters are Miriam Larsen, Mattis Herman Nyquist, Julie Skaufel, Fredrik Høyer and Per-Olav Sørensen, inspired by an idea from Amir Shaheen and Kristian Andersen. The series is produced by Trond Kvernstrøm, Christian Steen and Anders Tangen at The Oslo Company.

Tesha Crawford, Director International Originals Northern Europe at Netflix: "We are excited about this fun, female led story as we believe the universal themes of love, ambition and the struggle with expectations, especially around Christmas, will resonate with our audiences in the Nordic countries as well as the rest of the world. It's a true honor to work with so many talented creatives from all over the Nordic region and we are happy to continue our partnership with Per-Olav Sørensen."

"With this extremely talented group of actors and writers we are very much looking forward to create a drama comedy set to Christmas. Hopefully it will give the audience a feel good experience, something to laugh at, and hopefully something to think about. It is also a thrill to work with Netflix once more shortly after finishing Quicksand", said Per-Olav Sørensen, director and co-writer.
