BOB'S BURGERS (FOX) - Executive producer Nora Smith has signed a multi-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television, the studio behind the animated comedy. The pact calls for her to serve as co-showrunner alongside creator Loren Bouchard. She'll likewise continue as executive producer on Apple's upcoming animated series "Central Park." (Deadline.com)
DEPUTY (FOX) - Mark Moses has signed onto the Stephen Dorff-led drama pilot as Jerry London: "This overbearing bureaucrat is a "political apex predator" who is openly contemptuous of Hollister (Dorff) and itching to drive him off the force." (Deadline.com)
EMPEROR OF MALIBU, THE (CBS) - Taylor Louderman is set to star opposite Ken Jeong and Max Willems in the comedy pilot, about when Auggie (Willems), the son of a Chinese billionaire (Jeong), announces his engagement to an American woman, his outrageous family descends upon the couple to win their son back and test drive the American dream. She'll play said woman, Kate: "A charming, easygoing classic California blonde, Kate's an intellectual property lawyer who urges her fiancé, Auggie to tell his parents about their engagement - confident that they'll eventually get over the cultural differences and embrace the relationship. But that was before she actually met his parents." (Deadline.com)
HOME BEFORE DARK (Apple TV+) - Co-creator Dana Fox has signed a multi-year overall development with Paramount Television and Anonymous Content, producers of the upcoming series. (Deadline.com)
INTERROGATION (CBSAA) - Pat Healy, Melinda McGraw and Michael Harney will recur on the upcoming true-crime drama. Healy will play "a criminal defense lawyer representing a young man (Kyle Gallner) charged with killing his mother"; with McGraw as "a free-spirited woman who marries into a deeply troubled family in the aftermath of a brutal murder"; and Harney as "a formidable police commander who gradually loses his memory to Alzheimer's." ORDER, THE (Netflix) - The streaming service has commissioned a 10-episode second season of the drama series, which debuted earlier this month. Production begins this summer in Vancouver for a 2020 premiere. (Deadline.com)
OUR HOUSE (CBS) - Nancy Lenehan and Phil Hendrie are both bound for the Katherine Heigl/Malcolm Barrett-led comedy pilot, which has also added Chris Harris as showrunner. Lenehan will play Laura, "Bridget's (Heigl) loving, passive-aggressive mother who feels like she no longer has a place in her family after her daughter renovates the childhood home she grew up in and raises her kids with a radically different parental style." And Hendrie portrays Rory, "Bridget's old-school, sometimes problematic father who spends his time trying to appease his wife Laura - even if that means meddling in the lives of his children." SISTERS (FOX) - Victoria Cartagena has joined the cast of the Australian import as Amanda, "a young, hip, self-assured, "gender-fluid" D.A. who's politically savvy & knows how to play the media. She gets her shot at the headlines when she becomes the lead prosecutor on the Bechley case." (Deadline.com)
SUPER SIMPLE LOVE STORY (A.K.A. THE US PROJECT) (CBS) - Ronny Chieng and Susan Wokoma are the latest additions to the comedy pilot, billed as a story told through interviews and vignettes spanning 10 years, about how an unlikely couple (Elizabeth Alderfer, David Walton) becomes an unlikely family. Chieng will portray Harris, "Kevin's (Walton) friend and former college roommate"; while Wokoma is Abby, "Morgan's (Alderfer) friend and co-worker." (Deadline.com)
TRIANGLE (ABC) - Italian actor Lorenzo Richelmy and director McG are both bound for the high-concept drama. Lorenzo will play Ham, "one of the residents of the Triangle, a former pirate and a rogue who is skeptical of newcomers." McG then will work from a script by Jon Harmon Feldman and Sonny Postiglione. UNDOING, THE (HBO) - Ismael Cruz Cordova and Matilda De Angelis are the latest to be cast in the Nicole Kidman/Hugh Grant-led limited series as Fernando Alves and Elena Alves, respectively. No details about their characters were given. (Deadline.com)
