BATWOMAN (The CW) - Alex Morf has been cast as DC Comics villain Victor Zsasz in the upcoming season, "a charismatic, skilled hitman with high, unpredictable energy. He proudly carves tally marks onto his skin for every victim he kills." (EW.com)
CLOSER LOOK, A/MY MANE PROBLEM/NOTORIOUS QUEENS (UMC, New!) - The streaming service has commissioned three new reality projects. "A Closer Look," from Isaac Taylor, "focuses on musicians through a series of interviews exploring their careers, music catalogs and what fans can look forward to in the future." Ralph Tresvant, Brian McKnight and Eric Benét are among those featured in the series, due in October. "My Mane Problem," from John Irwin, "follows celebrity hairstylist Dr. Boogie, whose clients include Taraji P. Henson, Eve and Vivica Fox as he takes on cases of real people with varying hair concerns from extensions and wigs to natural hair in need of some serious help." The show will premiere in March 2021. And "Notorious Queens," which follows four women - Stormey Ramdhan, Tonesa Welch, La'Britney Franklin, and Meghan James - "who have been labeled "notorious" due to their past romantic relationships and intense media coverage, as they work to leave behind their troublesome pasts behind." Datari Turner Productions' Datari Turner, Jennifer Williams and Entertainment One's Tara Long and Mark Herwick will executive produce. (Deadline.com)
CONAN (Netflix) - Pathfinder Media has found a new home for its adaptation of Robert E. Howard's iconic sword-and-sorcery character: Netflix. The company's Fredrik Malmberg and Mark Wheeler will executive produce the project, which is currently searching for a showrunner. Said duo previously set up the project at Amazon in 2018, spearheaded by writer Ryan Condal, director Miguel Sapochnik and fellow executive producer Warren Littlefield. (Deadline.com)
HIGHTOWN (Starz) - Creator Rebecca Cutter has signed a multi-year overall deal with the show's producer, Lionsgate Television. (Deadline.com)
LEGACIES (The CW) - Ben Levin's Jed, the Salvatore School's werewolf Alpha, is the latest to be upgraded to series regular on the drama. (Deadline.com)
LOCKE & KEY (Netflix) - Brendan Hines and Liyou Abere are both bound for the new season, which has also promoted Aaron Ashmore's Duncan Locke and Hallea Jones's Eden Hawkins to series regulars. Hines will play new cast member Josh Bennett, "a charismatic and mysterious new history teacher at Matheson Academy with a secret agenda"; while Abere will guest as Amie Bennett, "a spirited 11-year-old who becomes fast friends with Bode and an ally against the evil forces threatening the Lockes." MS. MARVEL (Disney+) - Newcomer Iman Vellani has booked the title role on the Marvel Studios series, which centers on Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teen based in New Jersey. Writer Bisha K. Ali is behind the project, which recently named Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon as directors. In addition, Vellani is expected to appear in future Marvel films. RIVERDALE (The CW) - Drew Ray Tanner's Fangs Fogarty is the latest to be named regular for the show's upcoming fifth season. (EOnline.com)

SUMMER (NBC, New!) - Chris Keyser has sold a new drama to the network about in which "four different families return each summer to the same idyllic seaside town on Cape Cod. Each season will cover one summer and explore their romances, conflicts, adventures and the pain and joy of growing up." 3 Arts Entertainment's Erwin Stoff will also executive produce for Lionsgate Television. SWEET TOOTH (Netflix) - Stefania LaVie Owen is the latest addition to the series as Bear, "a teenage, dystopic activist who's the leader of the Animal Army. Her army of teens leads a moral crusade, fighting against the humans that lead to society's collapse while protecting all Hybrids." (Deadline.com)
VANCOUVER SERIES PRODUCTIONS (Various) - "A Million Little Things" and "The Mighty Ducks" will resume production on Thursday following "lengthy delays in receiving COVID-19 test results for their casts and crew." They'll join "The Good Doctor" and "Midnight Mass" which "have not experienced test results delays and have continued filming." Other series have "strong indications that shooting would resume Friday." (Deadline.com)
