DAVID E. TALBERT AND LYN SISSON-TALBERT'S GOLDEN ALCHEMY CREATE PARTNERSHIP WITH NETFLIX

David E. Talbert and Lyn Sisson-Talbert have signed a first-look deal to write, direct and produce movies for Netflix.

Quote from David E. Talbert: "Working with Scott Stuber, Tendo Nagenda, Nick Nesbitt and the entire Netflix team was a filmmaker's dream. Lyn and I have never been more inspired to put the band back together to create event films that are culturally relevant and globally entertaining.

Quote from Scott Stuber, head of Netflix Films: "David and Lyn are a one-of-a-kind filmmaking team, with an eye for entertaining and a vision for inclusive storytelling. With Jingle Jangle, they created an instant holiday classic and welcomed us into their family and we couldn't be more thrilled to have them join ours."

The Talbert's production company is called Golden Alchemy.

The deal follows the success of Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, Netflix's first original live-action musical. David wrote, directed and produced the hit film, which was also produced by Lyn. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey currently leads the nominations for the 2021 NAACP Image Awards with 10 nods, including "Outstanding Motion Picture." Additionally, David was individually nominated for "Outstanding Writing in a Motion Picture" and "Outstanding Directing in a Motion Picture." The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences also shortlisted the film for Oscar contention in three categories: "Original Song," "Original Score" and "Makeup and Hairstyling."

Previously, David directed, wrote and executive produced the hit feature film Almost Christmas for Universal. He also directed, wrote and produced Baggage Claim for Fox Searchlight and First Sunday for Sony Pictures. Upon their releases, each film debuted as the #1 comedy in the US. Additionally, he directed El Camino Christmas for Netflix.

In addition to his accomplishments in cinema, David is one of the most prolific storytellers in the national theater landscape. He has written and produced 14 national tours, has garnered 34 NAACP nominations (24 for theater), won the NAACP "Best Playwright of the Year" Award for The Fabric of a Man, and received the NAACP Trailblazer Award for his overall contributions and accomplishments in theater. He received the New York Literary Award for "Best Playwright of the Year" for his musical, Love in the Nick of Tyme.

David is also a best-selling author. He has written three novels: Baggage Claim, Love on the Dotted Line, and Love Don't Live Here No More: Book One of Doggy Tales, which he wrote with Snoop Dogg.

Lyn is one of Hollywood's most accomplished female producers and has orchestrated many original films, theatrical productions and books. Most recently, she authored two children's books as companions to Jingle Jangle:A Christmas Journey - the middle-grade book Jingle Jangle: The Invention of Jeronicus Jangle and the illustrated children's book, The Square Root of Possible: A Jingle Jangle Story. Both books were published by Penguin-Random House in 2020.

Prior to her work on Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, Lyn executive produced Almost Christmas, Baggage Claim, and El Camino Christmas, among others.

She started her career in theater and built a groundbreaking producing career with 11 sold-out national tours and distribution deals for her productions through DVD, networks, and streaming platforms. She produced the record-breaking tour of the play His Woman His Wife; the touring production of Love Makes Things Happen, featuring original and classic songs by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds; and the national touring production of the musical comedy Mr. Right Now, which sold out theaters in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and more. She is credited for the global expansion of the Urban Theatre circuit by producing and filming Mr. Right Now, which was the first-ever theatre production slated for retail.

Lyn also has a keen eye for costume design and received the NAACP "Costume Designer of the Year" Award for her work on Love Makes Things Happen.
