BALLAD OF RENEGADE NELL, THE (Disney+, New!) - Sally Wainwright and Lookout Point have sold a "swashbuckling adventure" eight-part series to the streamer, set in the 18th century: "When she's framed for murder, Nell Jackson is forced into a life of highway robbery, along with her two orphaned sisters Roxanne and George. Aided by a plucky little spirit called Billy Blind, Nell realizes that fate has put her on the wrong side of the law for a reason, a reason much bigger than she could've ever imagined - a reason that goes right up to Queen Anne and beyond, to the struggle for power raging across the battlefields of Europe." Faith Penhale and Will Johnston will also executive produce. (Variety.com)
BARUCA (Netflix, New!) - Alberto Ammann and Luis Callejo will topline a new series for the streamer which "unspools its six episodes over just one night as a group of criminals surround the Monte Baruca psychiatric prison, cut off all lines of communication and demand that one of the inmates, a dangerous serial killer, be released. Although giving in to the group's demands would likely end the siege, prison director Hugo refuses, enlisting several inmates to join his limited security forces and form a defense against the incursion." Verónica Fernández and Laura Sarmiento are the creators while Óscar Pedraza is directing. (Variety.com)
CULPRITS (Disney+, New!) - Writer/director J Blakeson is spearheading a "dark comedy heist" eight-part series at the streaming service, which "follows what happens after a heist, when the crew have gone their separate ways, but are being targeted by a killer one-by-one." Stephen Garrett will executive produce and Morenike Williams will produce for Character 7. (Variety.com)

PERO YA NO (Netflix, New!) - Manolo Caro has begun production on a new musical series for the streamer, detailed as follows: "A tragically separated couple must find each other in another life to break a spell on their town, but the arrival of two tourists threaten their chance." INTIMIDAD (Netflix, New!) - Patricia López Arnaiz, Itziar Ituño, Emma Suárez, Verónica Echegui and Ana Wagener are set to star in a new Spanish series for the streaming service, which "starts with a politician's sex tape being leaked and focuses on the aftermath and how it affects four women close to the political scandal." No other details were given. (Variety.com)
LAST OF US, THE (HBO) - Gabriel Luna has scored a role on the video game-turned-TV series as Tommy, "Joel's (Pedro Pascal) younger brother, a former soldier who hasn't lost his sense of idealism and hope for a better world." (Deadline.com)
LAST OG, THE (TBS) - Janet Hubert is bound for the Tracy Morgan-led comedy as Miss May Miller: "One of Roberta's (Anna Maria Horsford) oldest and dearest friends and weekly bid whist partner. As Brooklyn teens they were rivals. However, in their later years they settled into a strong friendship as part of a weekly card playing foursome who weigh in on the comings and goings of Tray Barker's (Morgan) struggle to bring positive change to his community after doing fifteen years in prison for selling crack." (Deadline.com)
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (Showtime) - Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose will star opposite Demián Bichir in the vampire drama pilot as Naomi: "Brilliant but cynical, Naomi balances life as a single mother with her career as a homicide detective. (Deadline.com)

Irma Correa is showrunning the project, a second chance drama which "turns on Emma, 30, married unhappily to Nano for the last 10 years. She realizes that, if she could turn back the clock, she'd never have married him in the first place. Suddenly transported back to 2008, with her 30 year old mind trapped in a 20-year-old body, she has the chance to reflect on who she was and wants to be, knowing what happens in the next decade." (Variety.com)
