CURSED (Netflix) - The streamer has nixed the fantasy series after one season. (Deadline.com)
HOMELAND ELEGIES (FX, New!) - Kumail Nanjiani is attached to star in an eight-episode limited series for the cable channel based on Ayad Akhtar's novel which "blends fact and fiction to tell an epic story of identity and belonging in post-Trump America. Part family drama, part social essay, part picaresque novel, at its heart it is the story of a father, a son, and the country they both call home." Akhtar will pen the adaptation with Oren Moverman attached to direct for Sight Unseen Pictures, Inimitable Pictures and FX Productions. Nimitt Mankad, Julia Lebedev and Eddie Vaisman will likewise executive produce alongside said group. (Deadline.com)
INDUSTRY (HBO) - Alex Alomar Akpobome and Adam Levy have joined the cast of the new season while Indy Lewis's Venetia Berens has been promoted to series regular. Akpobome will play Danny Van Deventer, "a wonder-kid Executive Director who recently landed in London from Pierpoint New York"; with Levy as Charles Hanani, "a jet-setting playboy looking to reconnect with his daughter, Yasmin (Marisa Abela)." Production on a new eight-episode season is expected to start soon in the U.K. (Deadline.com)
LOVECRAFT COUNT (HBO) - Creator Misha Green has signed a multi-year overall deal with Apple to develop new series projects on an exclusive basis. (Deadline.com)
RAP SH*T (HBO Max) - Devon Terrell is set to star opposite Aida Osman and Kamillion in the comedy series as Cliff, "Shawna's (Osman) supportive but long-distance boyfriend who currently attends law school in New York. He met Shawna in Atlanta back when they were in college together." (Deadline.com)
STAIRCASE, THE (HBO Max) - Vincent Vermignon has scored a role on the limited series as Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, joining previously announced cast members Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Rosemarie DeWitt, Juliette Binoche, Parker Posey, Odessa Young, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Dane DeHaan, Olivia DeJonge, Sophie Turner, Michael Stuhlbarg and Tim Guinee.
