CHARMED/OUR KIND OF PEOPLE/SUPERMAN & LOIS (FOX/The CW) - Keesha Sharp is slated to direct an upcoming episode of each series. (Deadline.com)
DEAR WHITE PEOPLE (Netflix) - Creator Justin Simien has signed a three-year overall deal with Paramount Television Studios where he'll develop new series projects via his Culture Machine production company. (Deadline.com)

ORVILLE, THE (Hulu) - The long-in-the-works third season of the sci-fi drama is still moving forward at the streamer. "The past year and a half has been complicated on a variety of levels as it pertains to production," the network's Jordan Helman told the publication. "I can't share a launch date, but we're really excited about what we've seen thus far." (Deadline.com)
PANIC (Amazon) - The streamer has passed on a second season for the young adult drama series. (Deadline.com)
RAP SH*T (HBO Max) - The upcoming comedy series has cast Daniel Augustin as Maurice, "Shawna's (Aida Osman) friend and co-worker"; Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut as Fatima, "law classmate and close friend of Shawna's boyfriend, Cliff (Devon Terrell)"; Amandla Jahava as Jill, "Shawna's friend from college"; and Jaboukie Young-White as Francois Boom, "Shawna's former schoolmate and producer," all recurring roles. (Deadline.com)
SERPENT QUEEN, THE (Starz) - Sennia Nanua is set to star opposite Samantha Morton in the period drama as Rahima, "the young servant girl who is assigned to wait on Catherine. She is abused and shunned by the palace staff but would prefer any such treatment to a one-on-one meeting with the evil Queen. And rightly so. We see that Catherine has an active interest in Rahima. She is not just looking for a willing ear for the defense she is making to the history books. She is intent on showing how a good, God-fearing girl like Rahima could also be corrupted to commit bad deeds if pushed around enough." (Deadline.com)
STANDING BY (Hulu, New!) - Dan Levy and Ally Pankiw have scored a presentation order from the streamer for an animated comedy billed as "a satirical look into the lives of a group of eternally bound, disgruntled guardian angels and the lessons they'll eventually learn from not only the dysfunctional humans they're in charge of protecting, but also each other." Levy will also voice Carey, "the newly deceased, cynical spotter to the group who had a lonely, isolated life in New York City." 20th Television Animation is producing. (Deadline.com)
THA GOD'S HONEST TRUTH (Comedy Central) - Charlamagne tha God's upcoming series has tapped Rachael Edwards as executive producer and showrunner, Charles McBee as head writer and Lisa Goumelle as executive in charge of production. Charlamagne (Lenard McKelvey), Stephen Colbert, Aaron McGruder, Karen Kinney, James Dixon, Chris Licht and Norman Aladjem also serve as executive producers. (THR.com)
ULTIMATE SLIP 'N SLIDE (NBC) - The network has opted not to resume production on the competition gameshow. Filming was shut down back in June after a crew member tested positive for giardia. There had been one week of production left at the time of the pause. (Deadline.com)
WEDNESDAY (Netflix) - Luis Guzmán has been cast as Gomez Addams, "patriarch of the Addams family and father of Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega," in the series. (Collider.com)
WHITE HOUSE PLUMBERS, THE (HBO) - Filming on the limited series has been suspended "over an on-set incident this week that have triggered an investigation." "HBO has received reports of alleged unprofessional behavior on the set of White House Plumbers," the network said in a statement. "We take very seriously our responsibility to ensure a respectful work environment on all our productions, and we are investigating the matter fully." (Deadline.com)
YOUNG SHELDON (CBS) - Wyatt McClure's Billy Sparks, "the neighbor and friend of Sheldon and Missy Cooper," will return as a regular this season. (Deadline.com)
