discovery+ Holiday Central Hub to Feature 300+ Hours of New Seasonal Content and New Long-Form Immersions

48 Acquired Holiday Films from Lifetime and MarVista Entertainment added to discovery+

NEW YORK - November 22, 2021 - discovery+ is the streaming home for the holidays, with two new specials from Chip and Joanna Gaines among the exclusive discovery+ seasonal offerings. Joanna shares one of her favorite holiday traditions: making candy to give as gifts to friends and family in the "Holiday Candy" episode of Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines (Dec. 3).

On Friday, Dec. 10, viewers can catch the Season 2 premiere of Family Dinner and join along as host Andrew Zimmern visits families across America to explore how the cultural, regional and historical facets of who we are inform what and how we eat.

The new exclusive Magnolia titles will be among the offerings on the discovery+ Holiday Central hub, which is currently live on the streaming service. Holiday Central will give fans access to 85 all-new premiere episodes as well as over 330 hours from 450 episodes of seasonal favorites, including the scripted feature Candy Coated Christmas with Ree Drummond. Other discovery+ originals premiering in December include true-crime doc Fruitcake Fraud (Dec. 1) and The Pioneer Woman's Hometown: Holiday Themes (Dec. 11), a collection of three holiday gems with The Pioneer Woman herself including, "A Very Ice Cream Christmas," "Christmas Sleepover" and "Christmas Magic at the Mercantile" celebrating Christmas in Ree Drummond's small town, Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

In addition to original titles, discovery+ subscribers will have access to 48 holiday films acquired from Lifetime and MarVista Entertainment. These films include Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever, My Christmas Inn and The Flight Before Christmas.

The streamer is also adding some holiday-themed content to its catalog of discovery+ Immersions, including Discovery's unique version of the holiday yule log. The brand new immersions, which all launch November 26, include:

· Surfing Santa: Get in the holiday spirit by catching a wave with the one and only Santa Claus. This journey to a surfer's paradise invites audiences to relax and celebrate the festive season from the beach.

· Cozy Holiday Kitchens: Step into the kitchen to prepare holiday meals with four chefs from around the world. This episode takes viewers on a journey to India, Mexico, Ethiopia, and the United States to experience festivity through food.

· Festive Fireplaces of the World: Cozy up next to fireplaces from all over the world. An extraordinary group of over 30 global filmmakers take viewers to the farthest corners of the earth to experience the unique warmth and comfort of sitting by a fire.

"discovery+ is known for curating the most complete and compelling experiences for our fans during cultural moments like Shark Week, Halloween and now the holiday season," said Lisa Holme, Group SVP of Content and Commercial Strategy for Discovery, Inc. "We've got everything from originals to beloved movies, along with new discovery+ immersions to make your holidays even more special this year."
