AND JUST LIKE THAT... (HBO Max) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "I feel good about the chances of doing more. But we're waiting to hear from [Michael Patrick King and Sarah Jessica Parker] and what they're thinking." (THR.com)
CHI, THE (Showtime) - Nia Jervier and Carolyn Michelle Smith will both recur on the upcoming season. Jervier will play Tierra, "the poised and polished god-niece of Douda (Curtiss Cook) whom he recruits for a rebranding effort. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, no matter the costs." And Smith will portray Deja, "the new love interest for Shaad (Jason Weaver) who helps him level up in more ways than one." (Deadline.com)
CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "As usual, if [Larry David] has an area that he is excited about, we'll do more. I imagine he will." (Deadline.com)
DEMIMONDE (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "It's a really big and very exciting show. It takes a lot of planning, because it's so big. So we're in that stage. The scripts are written, and they're trying to get, I guess I would say, a plan of attack on how to shoot [it] and things like that. No details yet on when it would start shooting or anything like that, but they're in the process of trying to figure that out." (TVLine.com)
FLIGHT ATTENDANT, THE/CINDY SNOW (HBO Max/FOX) - Creator Steve Yockey has signed a multi-year overall deal with the Warner Bros. Television Group, the studio home to both series. (Deadline.com)
FULLER HOUSE (Netflix) - GAC Family has acquired the cable rights to the revival series. Look for the first of its 75 episodes to air Monday, February 28. (Variety.com)
GAME OF THRONES 10,000 SHIPS PROJECT/GAME OF THRONES 9 VOYAGES PROJECT/GAME OF THRONES ANIMATED SERIES/TALES OF DUNK AND EGG (HBO/HBO Max) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "Nothing else has been greenlit. There's various other projects in development but nothing else is greenlit and right now we're focused on House of the Dragon. I don't believe we've passed on any others." (THR.com)
GIRLS (REBOOT SERIES) (HBO, New!) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "There are no real discussions about revisiting it. I would put Girls in with Sopranos and Six Feet Under as not something I'm thinking about bringing back." (THR.com)
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "Typically speaking, I like to take an approach where we will talk about what a second season might look like and talk about scripts. But we tend to like to see how a show performs. That said, if I were betting, I'd say there's a pretty good shot that House of the Dragon will get a season two." (THR.com)
IN TREATMENT (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "That was really a response to when we were talking about the pandemic and how do you shoot, what kinds of shows lend themselves to production. Then out of that conversation came 'In Treatment' and 'The White Lotus' [which was shot entirely at a Maui resort]. And I think working with Uzo [Aduba] was the big one there and that was great, but no plans to continue doing that." (Variety.com)
ISLAND, THE (Hulu, New!) - Adrian McKinty's upcoming novel is being developed as a limited series by the streamer: "The Island is described as an intense thriller that tells the story of a family trip that turns into a living nightmare. After a tragic accident, a young wife with her new husband and his two children find themselves being hunted by locals in harsh bushland. Her husband doesn't really believe in her, the kids don't trust her and the locals want to kill her. But Heather has been underestimated most of her life and she knows that she is capable of bringing this family together, becoming the mother her children need, even if it means doing terrible things to keep them all alive." McKinty will executive produce with Shane Salerno and The Story Factory. (Deadline.com)
LAST OF US, THE (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "The Last of Us is shooting right now in Canada. We haven't announced an air date yet. But it's not 2022. They're still shooting in Calgary." (THR.com)
LOVE LIFE (HBO Max) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "No decision." Adding, "Obviously that is an anthology so a lot of it is who is the lead but no decision or movement there to talk about." (Deadline.com)
MARE OF EASTTOWN (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "[Mare of Easttown] was such a good group of talent in front of and behind the camera. Kate [Winslet], Brad [Ingelsby] and Craig [Zobel] are really busy, with movies in Kate's case and other projects in Brad's and Craig's. I don't know, honestly, if it's going to be the kind of thing that they go off and do another project and then when schedules align, maybe they come back. It's really kind of up in the air and really up to them. Obviously we love working with them and I think the show was great. That's one we're just going to have to see how time goes." (Deadline.com)
MOSQUITO COAST, THE (Apple TV+) - Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Ariyon Bakare and Ian Hart have all joined the cast of the show's second season. No details about their roles were given. They join returning stars Justin Theroux, Melissa George, Logan Polish, and Gabriel Bateman. (Deadline.com)
PRINCE, THE (HBO Max) - The streamer has nixed the animated series after one season. (Deadline.com)
REBOOT (Hulu) - Paul Reiser has joined the cast of the comedy series as Gordon, "the hacky creator of the late- 90's sitcom Step Right Up, who never understood why everybody loved Seinfeld and Frasier." He replaces Michael McKean from the original pilot. (Deadline.com)
RUST BELT NEWS (CBS, New!) - Matt Warburton has scored a pilot order from the Eye for a single-camera comedy "set in a small Ohio town where the local newspaper goes out of business, leaving the ambitious, angsty reporters of the high school newspaper as the only people left to report on scandals, dig up corruption, and generally polish the rust off this rust-belt community." Alloy Entertainment's Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
SIX FEET UNDER (REBOOT SERIES) (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "I personally don't think that's a good idea. I think there are some shows that are better left, in Six Feet Under's case, dead - or finished." (THR.com)
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (FOX) - The network reportedly plans to revive the series for a 17th season this summer. (TVLine.com)
SOPRANOS PREQUEL SERIES, THE (HBO Max) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: I don't think David [Chase] has any interest in revisiting The Sopranos. And I would agree with him. It's a perfect series that I don't think needs revisiting. But we'll see what he wants to do next." (THR.com)
SUCCESSION (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "That'll be Jesse [Armstrong]'s call, obviously. He's with the writers now, talking about Season 4. I imagine at some point he will let us know where he lands on whether this is the last or if there's more. Generally speaking, we leave it to the showrunner/creators to come to us to let us know when it's the time to end the story. So we'll see." (TVLine.com)
SUPER PUMPED (Showtime) - Quentin Tarantino has been tapped to narrate the anthology's first season "The Battle for Uber." (Deadline.com)
TAMRON HALL (Syndication) - Quiana Burns has been named permanent executive producer of the series. She joined as the interim executive producer in October. (Deadline.com)
THA GOD'S HONEST TRUTH (Comedy Central) - The cable channel has renewed the Charlamagne Tha God-hosted series for a second season. Look for "a special series of one-on-one interviews before the show's return" this summer. (Deadline.com)
TRUE BLOOD (REBOOT SERIES) (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "There's been multiple versions of it. I don't know that we've landed on the one. I don't want to give you the impression that it's anything close to [getting a green light]." (TVLine.com)
TRUE DETECTIVE (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "On True Detective, we've been developing various ideas. Stay tuned on that one." (THR.com)
UNTITLED SUICIDE SQUAD SPIN-OFF PROJECT (HBO Max) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "I don't want to take anything away from James [Gunn]. I think he has been such a terrific partner on the show so I will let him talk about any plans he wants to share." (Deadline.com)
WATCHMEN (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "No status update on Watchmen." (THR.com)
WESTWORLD (HBO) - Casey Bloys, HBO & HBO Max's Chief Content Officer, said at the TCA Winter Press Tour: "I don't know if it's going to be six seasons. It's up to Jonah [Nolan] and Lisa [Joy]. I don't know what their current thinking is, whether it's five, six or seven, I'm not exactly sure." (THR.com)
