ALIEN (FX on Hulu) - Noah Hawley has completed all of the scripts for the featured-turned-TV series, which will begin shooting next year. It's understood the project "will take place before [Sigourney] Weaver's Ripley character appears and she will not be part of the show, as will none of the characters apart from the alien itself." (Deadline.com)
BIG CIGAR, THE (Apple TV+) - Moses Ingram is slated to recur on the André Holland-led limited series as Teressa Dixon, "a former telephone operator turned rising star in the Black Panther Party and a close confidante of Huey." (Deadline.com)
CSI: VEGAS (CBS) - Sara Amini and Joel Johnstone will both recur on the upcoming season as Sonya, "a regimented, methodical, and passionate head Medical Examiner"; and Jack, "Sonya's intelligent, curious, and optimistic older brother and the assistant Medical Examiner," respectively. (Deadline.com)
DRIVER, THE (AMC) - Skeet Ulrich is the latest to board the Giancarlo Esposito-led drama as Colin, "an old acquaintance of Vince (Esposito)." (Deadline.com)
EVERYBODY STILL HATES CHRIS (Paramount+, New!) - Streamer Paramount+ and sibling linear network Comedy Central have landed the reimagined animated version of "Everybody Hates Chris," with Chris Rock returning as narrator and executive producer. Sanjay Shah is spearheading the project, which has a straight-to-series order, for MTV Entertainment Studios, CBS Studios and 3 Arts Entertainment, which will again be "inspired by Rock's experiences growing up as a skinny nerd in a large working class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during the late 1980s." Ali LeRoi, Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Grant Gish will likewise executive produce. (Deadline.com)
FIRST KILL (Netflix) - The streamer has canceled the vampire drama series after one season. (Deadline.com)
MAN IN FULL, A (Netflix) - The Jeff Daniels/Diane Lane-led limited series has cast William Jackson Harper as Wes Jordan, "the incumbent mayor of Atlanta who's up for re-election"; Tom Pelphrey as Raymond Peepgrass, "an oppressed and lowly loan officer on the verge of personal and professional chaos"; Aml Ameen as Roger White, "an attorney for Croker Industries"; Sarah Jones as Serena Croker, "Charlie's second wife"; Jon Michael Hill as Conrad Hensley, "a humble, hardworking employee of Croker Industries who faces a life-altering decision after a series of unfortunate events"; and Chanté Adams as Jill Hensley, "Charlie's beloved executive assistant." (Deadline.com)
MY LADY JANE (Amazon) - Emily Bader, Edward Bluemel and Jordan Peters are set to star in the streamer's adaptation of the YA historical fiction novels by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand and Jodi Meadows, about "an irreverent young Tudor woman who dreads her arranged marriage, only to be surprised when it results in a steamy romance, her being crowned Queen and a heroic mission to save the magical people persecuted by her political rivals." Bader will take on the titular role of Lady Jane; with Bluemel as Grey's husband Lord Guildford Dudley, and Peters as King Edward. Writers Gemma Burgess and Meredith Glynn and director Jamie Babbit will executive produce alongside Sarah Bradshaw and Laurie MacDonald for Parkes + MacDonald and Amazon Studios. (Deadline.com)
NOT DEAD YET (ABC) - Hannah Simone is joining the cast of the Gina Rodriguez-led midseason comedy as Sam, "the editor of the Life & Style section of the newspaper and a busy working mom. A former wild child, Sam has hit her stride and seems to handle everything thrown her way with ease and an organized "mom purse." But underneath this exterior, Sam struggles with taking too much on and misses her carefree single days when it was her and Nell against the world. She's torn between her big work goals and missing the person she was before the kids and the big job. Hopefully, having Nell back will help her find that balance." (Deadline.com)
SEX EDUCATION (Netflix) - Rakhee Thakrar's Emily Sands is the latest departure from the cast in advance of the series' fourth season. (Deadline.com)
ST. DENIS MEDICAL (NBC, New!) - Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin have scored a pilot production commitment from the network for a half-hour mockumentary-style workplace comedy about "an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital where the dedicated doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity." Spitzer Holding Company's Simon Heuer will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
STATION 19 (ABC) - Merle Dandridge's Natasha Ross, Josh Randall's Sean Beckett, and Pat Healy's Michael Dixon are slated to return as regulars for the series' sixth season. (Deadline.com)
