In Conjunction with "Thursday Night Football," Prime Video Debuts Weekly Show "The NFL Pile On Presented by Carnival Cruise Line," a Comedic Review of the NFL Week That Was

The NFL Pile On will air every Wednesday throughout the season, one day in advance of Prime Video's weekly presentation of exclusive Thursday Night Football coverage

Actor, comedian, and SNL alum Taran Killam to host weekly show, premiering September 14

NEW YORK - September 8, 2022 - Prime Video today announced the premiere of The NFL Pile On Presented by Carnival Cruise Line, a new 30-minute comedic show airing every Wednesday on Prime Video. Actor, comedian, writer, and Saturday Night Live alum Taran Killam will host the weekly show, premiering Wednesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. EDT, the day before Prime Video's season-opener Thursday Night Football game, when the Los Angeles Chargers visit the Kansas City Chiefs on September 15.

Each week, The NFL Pile On will showcase funny and unexpected moments from across the league, from mic'd up players during pregame warmups to postgame press conference one-liners - everything from studio shows, social media, and fashion faux pas will be fair game. And, with full access to the NFL Films library of content, The NFL Pile On will also ensure that no epic fumble or comedic moment throughout the season-long NFL campaign goes unnoticed.

"The NFL Pile On will give viewers an entertaining, fresh take on all the week's NFL action," said Marie Donoghue, vice president of Global Sports Video, Amazon. "Led by Taran Killam, we will bring fans closer to the fun in and around the game, so they can enjoy even more access to their favorite teams and players."

Boasting a range of experience in movie and television favorites including Night School, How I Met Your Mother, SNL, and MADtv, as well as a show-stealing performance as King George III in the Broadway production of Hamilton, host Taran Killam will lend his sharp comedic takes all season long. Alongside comedian Sarah Tiana and special guests from the worlds of pop culture, sports, comedy, and social media, Killam and team will recap the funniest, most conversation-provoking NFL-focused clips from the previous week, and set the stage for each presentation of Thursday Night Football, exclusively on Prime Video.

"I am so excited and grateful to help launch a show about two things I love: football and comedy," said Killam. "The fact that we are supported by the NFL and Prime Video means we can provide exclusive, all-access content to Prime members and NFL fans alike ... and also that I get all The Boys spoilers I can handle."

Produced in coordination with NFL Films and lead by showrunner Chris Pizzi, fans can catch The NFL Pile On at 7 p.m. EDT on Prime Video each Wednesday of the regular season, with episodes available on demand for one week thereafter. Carnival Cruise Line, known as "America's cruise line" for carrying more Americans and serving more U.S. homeports than any other, is the presenting sponsor and exclusive advertiser for The NFL Pile On.

Kicking off September 15, Prime Video will become the first streaming service to air a season-long exclusive national broadcast package with the NFL. The 11-year deal includes 15 regular-season games and one preseason game per year, with Prime Video also delivering new pregame, halftime, and postgame shows as well as fan-favorite interactive features like X-Ray and Next Gen Stats powered by AWS. Viewers can stream from the web at amazon.com or by using the Prime Video app, which is available on smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, or select smart TVs, and on mobile and tablets with NFL+. Each Thursday Night Football game will also stream live on Twitch and will be available on over-the-air TV stations in the two home markets of the competing teams, as well as in Spanish language on Prime Video.
