BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER (Amazon) - The streamer has landed the DC Comics animated series after being dropped by HBO max. Two seasons are slated to be completed by Warner Bros. Animation. J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, Bruce Timm, Sam Register and Ed Brubaker are among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Jesse Spencer will once reprise his role of Matt Casey on the show's 18th episode this season. No specifics about the circumstances around his character's return were given. (Variety.com)
FROM BLOOD AND ASH (Amazon, New!) - Anne Cofell Saunders is spearheading a potential TV take on Jennifer L. Armentrout's series of novels for Amazon Studios which "centers on a young woman named Poppy, who is chosen at birth as The Maiden of her kingdom who will "Ascend" and bring in a new era of peace and prosperity." Armentrout, Luke Ryan and Sascha Hecks of Chaotic Good Studios will also executive produce. (THR.com)
LOVE IN FAIRHOPE (Hulu, New!) - The streamer has commissioned an unscripted series which "follows five generations of women navigating life and love in the small town of Fairhope, Alabama." Evolution Media, Hello Sunshine and Tremont Road are behind the project with Reese Witherspoon, Sara Rea, Alex Baskin, Lauren Weber, Brian McCarthy, Joe Kingsley and Benton Bohannon executive producing. MURDER BY THE BOOK (NBC) - Tituss Burgess, Tommy Dewey and Siobhan Williams have all joined the cast of the Retta-led drama pilot. Burgess will play Andre, "Hazel's loveable, charming and directionless younger brother. For the time-being, he's Hazel's publicist/manager/hype-man because he's been fired from every other job he's ever had." Dewey then is set as Pete, a" cheerful homicide detective who somehow has a gorgeous second home overlooking the bay on a government salary." And Williams is Lori, "an employee at the bookstore who proves to be an invaluable, if sometimes off center, ally in Hazel's hunt for Maggie's killer." (Deadline.com)
PHYSICAL (Apple TV+) - Director/executive producer Craig Gillespie has signed a first-look deal with Tomorrow Studios. (Variety.com)

ROYAL RULES OF OHIO (Hulu, New!) - The streaming service has ordered a docuseries "following three first-generation, young Ghanaian sisters as they navigate their 20s in Columbus, Ohio." Tara Long, Ben Megargel, Madison Merritt, Kim McKoy, Amy Callahan and Jayson Elmore are the executive producers for Entertainment One. (Variety.com)
SECRETS & SISTERHOOD: THE SOZAHDAHS (Hulu, New!) - The streamer likewise picked up an unscripted series which "follows the highs and lows of 10 modern day Muslim American sisters living in LA as they navigate their faith, family, career, and love lives." Half Yard Productions is behind the project with Nicole Sorrenti, Dirk Hoogstra, San Heng and Erika Bryant executive producing. (Variety.com)
UNTITLED CREED PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - Michael B. Jordan's franchise is being eyed for an expansion into additional films and TV series following the third installment's $100M-plus global opening. Among the potential efforts according to the report: "an anime series connected to the Rocky spinoff IP"; "a companion live-action TV series"; and "a potential project centering on Adonis Creed's daughter Amara, who was played by deaf actress Mila Davis-Kent in Creed III, making her film acting debut." VICE CITY (Paramount+, New!) - Writers Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters are set to team with director Chad Stahelski for a potential drama for the streamer: "Vice City (wt) follows three friends, and former soldiers, who return to their home city of Miami in the mid-80s after being dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal. Disgraced, displaced, and forgotten by the country they served and with no good job prospects, the three friends partner with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, uniting their financial needs and criminal ambitions to form a heist crew. Fueled by the need for American green, they traverse a violent and dangerous path in pursuit of the American Dream." Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Alex Young and Jason Spitz will also executive produce for Lionsgate Television, Paramount Television Studios, G-Unit Film & Television and 87 Eleven. (Deadline.com)
