OXYGEN TRUE CRIME'S FAVORITE GUILTY PLEASURE "SNAPPED" CELEBRATES ITS 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A TWO-HOUR SPECIAL SUNDAY, MAY 12 AT 6:00PM ET/PT

The "Snapped" Special Revisits One of the Most Bizarre Crimes in the Series' History, and Includes Outrageous Updates Nearly Too Strange to Believe

After Two Decades of Storytelling, "Snapped" is on Track to Have Its Best Season Ever

UNIVERSAL CITY - APRIL 30, 2024 - Oxygen True Crime, home of high-quality, true-crime programming, celebrates the 20th anniversary of "Snapped," which became appointment viewing in 2004. On track to have its best season ever, the series continues to fascinate armchair detectives. From socialites to secretaries, from moms to mistresses and everything in between, "Snapped" has given true crime fans what they crave - tales of ordinary and extraordinary women, of all ages and from all backgrounds who were driven to murder. With reasons as varied as insurance payoffs, extramarital affairs or ending years of abuse, the women share one thing: they all snapped.

20 years in the making, the "Snapped" special reexamines the Internet's first murder trial, taking viewers back to the days of internet chat rooms and clever screen names, VHS tapes sent via snail mail, and a veritable scarcity of cell phones. During this time, Sharee Miller, a twisted seductress with a skill for manipulation, is convicted of second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. After time in prison, she has a second chance at life and love when her story is examined on "Snapped." What follows is a stunning final update in her case.

"Snapped" By the Numbers:

· "Snapped" has aired 33 seasons over 20 years.

· At the conclusion of season 33 this spring, "Snapped" will have aired 646 episodes featuring true stories of women who lost control and committed murder.

· "Snapped" has garnered three successful spinoffs: "Snapped: Killer Couples," which is currently airing its 17th season, "Snapped: Behind Bars," which premieres its second season this fall and "Snapped: Notorious."

· Now in its 33rd season, the true crime powerhouse "Snapped" is on track to have its best season ever, averaging 725K P2+ in multiplatform viewing through 35 Days, and is pacing to grow for the fifth season in a row.

"Snapped" is produced by Jupiter Entertainment. Patrick Reardon, Madeline Griffey and David O'Donnell Executive Produce.
