THE HISTORY CHANNEL TO PREMIERE NEW NONFICTION SERIES "HUNTING HISTORY WITH STEVEN RINELLA" HOSTED AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY MEATEATER'S STEVEN RINELLA ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 28 AT 10PM ET/PT

SERIES FOLLOWS THE FAMED OUTDOORSMAN AS HE TRAVERSES AMERICA'S MOST ICONIC WILDERNESS LANDSCAPES TO DELIVER A FRESH TAKE ON SOME OF AMERICAN HISTORY'S MOST PERPLEXING MYSTERIES

New York, NY - December 11, 2024 - The HISTORY Channel is set to premiere its new investigative nonfiction series "Hunting History with Steven Rinella" on Tuesday, January 28 at 10pm ET/PT. Hosted and executive produced by Steven Rinella, a world-renowned outdoorsman, #1 New York Times best-selling author, TV host, podcast host, and founder of the outdoor lifestyle and media brand MeatEater, the new 8-part series dives into some of American history's greatest and most perplexing mysteries through a bold new lens.

Unlike any other show about history's most enduring mysteries, Rinella brings his expert skills as a survivalist to trace what were thought to be untraceable steps and reveal new evidence along the way. Across eight episodes, Rinella teams up with historians, archaeologists, and a mesmerizing cast of outdoor professionals as he takes viewers on an immersive journey. Throughout the series, Rinella hunts for answers to questions that have long baffled experts, including: what happened to the lost colony of Roanoke? Did skyjacker D.B. Cooper survive his famous jump? And what is causing the disturbing cattle mutilations in the American West?

"The stories of past explorers and adventurers remind us that a thirst for danger and wild places is firmly rooted in the human spirit. These stories teach us resilience and they deepen our connection to the natural world," said Rinella. "In Hunting History,' we're diving into the intersection of historical mysteries and the wild. We push the boundaries of what is known and understood, and we explore the ways in which nature always has the upper hand."

Other mysteries investigated on the ground include the so-called Alaska Triangle the doomed Donner Party, the oldest Great Lakes shipwreck and the seeming disappearance of the Ancestral Puebloan People. In each hour-long episode, Rinella heads deep into some of the most unforgiving landscapes in the country in a thrilling quest to better understand some of our most enduring mysteries.

"Hunting History with Steven Rinella" arrives amidst a heightened focus on American history-centric content from Rinella's MeatEater Inc., which launched the MeatEater's American History audiobook series in 2023. After the success of the inaugural "Long Hunters," Rinella and MeatEater will launch two new American History audiobook titles in 2025, starting with "The Mountain Men (1806-1840)."

"Hunting History with Steven Rinella" is produced for The HISTORY(R) Channel by Warm Springs Productions in association with MeatEater. Marc Pierce, Morgan Fallon, Ben Ford, and Chris Richardson serve as executive producers for Warm Springs Productions. Steven Rinella and his wife Katie Finch serve as executive producers for MeatEater. Eli Lehrer, Mary E. Donahue, Max Micallef, and Alex Hicks serve as executive producers for The HISTORY Channel.
