ABC NEWS STUDIOS ANNOUNCES TWO GRIPPING NEW TRUE CRIME DOCUSERIES TO PREMIERE IN FEBRUARY, STREAMING EXCLUSIVELY ON HULU

ABC News Studios*

ABC News Studios expands its collection of riveting true crime docuseries by debuting two new narrative nonfiction titles, streaming exclusively on Hulu: "Wicked Game: The Devil in the Desert" and "The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer." The new docuseries add to the notable lineup of popular streaming titles, such as seasons one through four of "Wild Crime," seasons one and two of "Betrayal," "Daughters of the Cult," "Little Miss Innocent: Passion. Poison. Prison." and more.

NEW ABC NEWS STUDIOS DOCUSERIES:

"Wicked Game: The Devil in the Desert" (Tuesday, Feb. 4)

After a sheriff's deputy found a woman zip-tied and frantic on the side of the road in the Mojave Desert in 2012, authorities discovered this may have been a grisly crime in pursuit of a suspected buried treasure. This discovery kicked off a years-long investigation that spanned sting operations, an international search, a prison break captured on cellphone, and a courtroom showdown between lead prosecutor Matt Murphy and the man authorities believed was pulling the strings in a twisted game of greed and violence - Hossein Nayeri.

Set during the early days of medical marijuana, "Wicked Game: Devil in the Desert" is a gripping three-part docuseries told through intimate access inside the case and to those who lived the story unlike any other. The docuseries showcases rare evidence stills, body cam and dash cam videos of gripping key moments, recorded police interviews with the victims and suspects, and features new interviews with the lead prosecutor and deputy counsel and the lead detective on the case. The series also incorporates "20/20"'s groundbreaking past reporting on the case, including archival interviews with victims and Nayeri, the so-called mastermind himself.

"Wicked Game: The Devil in the Desert" is produced for Hulu by ABC News Studios. Eamon McNiff serves as executive producer, and David Sloan serves as senior executive producer. Katie Muldowney and Jake Lefferman serve as series producers.

"The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer" (Tuesday, Feb. 18)

In the wealthy suburbs of Indianapolis, husband and father of three Herb Baumeister led a double life - businessman by day, serial killer by night. Throughout the 1990s, he targeted gay men, amassing a victim count possibly surpassing that of Jeffrey Dahmer. "The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer" is a four-part series that follows Hamilton County coroner Jeff Jellison as he launches a new investigation decades after thousands of bones were found in the woods behind Fox Hollow Farms, Baumeister's stately home. Using new DNA technology, Jellison and his team work to identify the human remains, bringing long-deferred closure to victims' families and unearthing unsettling questions about potential accomplices, missing evidence, and a key witness whose story keeps changing.

Through never-before-seen archival footage and new interviews with those central to the story, this new docuseries explores how the murders went undetected. In an exclusive interview, a Baumeister survivor, Mark Goodyear, emerges from the shadows, revealing his face for the first time in an on-camera interview, raising more questions about his relationship with the man he says wanted to kill him. Additional interviews include investigators involved in the original case and new investigation, relatives of Baumeister's victims, the current owner of Fox Hollow Farm, and the cold case experts working to bring closure for families still waiting for answers.

"The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer" is produced by One Traveler, an All3Media Company for ABC News Studios. Alex Jablonski is director. Jen Casey, Nick Gilhool, Alex Walton and Jacob-Cohen Holmes are executive producers for One Traveler and All3 Media. Alex Jablonski serves as executive producer, with Angela Borg and Sophie Kruz as co-executive producers. Victoria Thompson serves as executive producer, and David Sloan serves as senior executive producer for ABC News Studios.
