MURDER MINDFULLY - Second season in production

MURDER MINDFULLY Season 2

Take a deep breath!

Season 2 of the successful crime comedy series is in production

Berlin, July 8, 2025: Björn Diemel is back! The lawyer, crime boss, occasional murderer, preschool owner, family man and mindfulness expert explores his inner child in the second season of the hit comedy crime series. One thing remains essential for him (and for us): the wisdom of mindfulness coach Joschka Breitner.

Filming of the second season of Murder Mindfully starring Tom Schilling is currently taking place in Berlin and the surrounding area. The Netflix series is written by Doron Wisotzky. and is produced by Constantin Film's Jan Ehlert, with Tim Ehrlich as producer. Jan Ehlert and Oliver Berben are executive producers. Established duo Martina Plura (director) and Monika Plura (director of photography) are back for Season 2. Tom Schilling, Britta Hammelstein, Murathan Muslu, Peter Jordan, Emily Cox and others will be reappearing in front of the camera.

The first season of dark comedy series Murder Mindfully became an audience favorite in Germany and beyond, reaching the Netflix weekly Top 10 in 66 countries.

Murder Mindfully is based on the eponymous bestselling series by successful German author and lawyer Karsten Dusse. The first novel has been translated into 30 languages. The German edition alone has sold more than four million copies to date.

Björn Diemel's life seems to be under control. He has internalized the principles of mindfulness, quit his stressful job as a criminal defense attorney, and started his own business. He spends more time with his daughter, Emily, and argues more mindfully with his wife, Katharina, but he also has new, unusual professional responsibilities. As the legal representative of two mafia clans, whose bosses he carefully removed from the scene, he must take care of their affairs and keep what really happened to their leaders a secret. The only person with any knowledge of the situation is Sascha, a mafioso with a degree in education. Sascha runs the preschool above which Björn now works and lives. He has also moved into the house, making Björn's secret even safer. But despite this bizarrely harmonious balance, Björn is plagued by inner restlessness and a loss of control. Why can't he enjoy it all?

His mindfulness coach, Joschka Breitner, identifies the reason as Björn's inner child. Unresolved conflicts from his childhood weigh on him more heavily than he had realized. While Björn tries to heal these wounds and make peace with his past, he also has to deal with life's usual challenges, and he ultimately discovers that his struggle not only brings emotional clarity, but also has practical implications for his shadowy activities.
