OVATION TV TO DEBUT THE U.S. PREMIERE OF "MURDOCH MYSTERIES" SEASON 19 ON OCTOBER 6
Bravo star Luann de Lesseps is back in the premiere episode
Los Angeles, CA - Sept. 26, 2025 - Ovation TV, America's premier arts network, will air the U.S. premiere of the beloved detective series Murdoch Mysteries season 19 on Monday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET. Murdoch Mysteries is set in Toronto in the early 1900s during the age of invention, where Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) enlists radical forensic techniques to solve some of the city's most gruesome murders.
The new season dazzles with a host of confounding mysteries, surprising guest stars and the wit that makes the show so beloved. Cases include the murder of a fashion mogul that everyone had reason to kill; a politically charged kidnapping of a Japanese scholar; Murdoch participates in a game show that turns lethal; wild animal attacks in High Park; and a dangerous stand-off when customers are taken hostage at a roadside inn. Stories this season bring Murdoch and Brackenreid to the very first Stampede in Calgary and another mystery has them fighting spies atop a speeding train to the nation's capital. In addition to Luann de Lesseps return in the premiere episode, Dave Foley and Scott Thompson of The Kids in the Hall appear in a special Christmas episode that also features Steven Page of The Barenaked Ladies. Jason Mewes (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) is also set to guest star this season.
"Season 19 is as ambitious and entertaining as ever, featuring a fantastic lineup of guest stars who bring must-see moments," said Christina Jennings, President and Chairman, Shaftesbury. "From our nation's capital to Alberta's rugged landscapes, filming took us to some stunning Canadian locations. And for the second year running, Ovation's audience can tune in day-and-date with our Canadian broadcast."
Characters returning to Murdoch's orbit include Chief Constable Thomas Brackenreid (Thomas Craig), Constables George Crabtree (Jonny Harris), Henry Higgins (Lachlan Murdoch), Teddy Roberts (Kataem O'Connor), Detective Llewellyn Watts (Daniel Maslany), Chief Coroner Violet Hart (Shanice Banton), Inspector Albert Choi (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Kim's Convenience, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Mandalorian), Margaret Brackenreid (Arwen Humphreys) and Crown Attorney Effie Newsome-Crabtree (Clare McConnell). Special guests like Agent Terrence Myers (Peter Keleghan) and Louise Cherry (Bea Santos) make appearances, as well as Station House #4's nemesis Mayor Chadwick Vaughan (Mark Caven).
Murdoch Mysteries is based on Maureen Jennings's popular Detective Murdoch series of novels and premiered in Canada in January 2008. Murdoch Mysteries is executive produced by Christina Jennings, Scott Garvie, Yannick Bisson, Simon McNabb, and Peter Mitchell, who also serves as showrunner, and produced by Jeremy Hood and Julie Lacey. Murdoch Mysteries is developed and produced by Shaftesbury, in association with CBC, ITV STUDIOS, and UKTV, and with the participation of the Canada Media Fund, the IPF's COGECO Television Production Fund, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit, and Ontario Creates. Shaftesbury Sales Company and ITV STUDIOS hold worldwide distribution rights for the series.
