OXYGEN RENEWS TENTPOLE SERIES "SNAPPED" FOR TWO NEW SEASONS

EXPANDS FRANCHISE WITH "SNAPPED: KILLER MOMS" AND GREENLIGHTS TRUE-CRIME DOCUMENTARY "HOOTERS MURDERS: DEADLY SHIFT"

December 4, 2025 - Oxygen, the home of high-quality, true-crime programming, announced today a slate of new pickups expanding its powerhouse lineup, including the renewal of the network's signature series Snapped for seasons 37 and 38, along with the expansion of the Snapped franchise with Snapped: Killer Moms (working title). The network has also greenlit the original documentary Hooters Murders: Deadly Shift (working title). These announcements underscore Oxygen's continued growth as a top destination for smart, compelling true-crime storytelling under the VERSANT Entertainment portfolio.

Across its most recent seasons, Snapped remains Oxygen's top-performing series and a leader in the true-crime genre. The long-running franchise continues to deliver strong multi-platform viewership, ranking as the #1 most viewed original cable entertainment series in its timeslot in 2025. Season 36 of Snapped will debut on Oxygen on Sunday, January 4 at 6pm ET/PT, ahead of celebrating its 700th episode next year.

"Snapped has long been a cornerstone of Oxygen, and we're thrilled to continue the franchise with two more seasons while expanding its universe with Snapped: Killer Moms. Alongside the gripping new documentary Hooters Murders: Deadly Shift, these additions underscore our commitment to delivering riveting true-crime stories that keep audiences engaged and coming back for more," said Cori Abraham, Senior Vice President, Unscripted Content, VERSANT.

One of television's longest running and successful true-crime franchises, Snapped has profiled the fascinating cases of women accused of heinous acts for 35 seasons. Whether the motivation was revenge against a cheating husband, the promise of a hefty insurance payoff, or putting an end to years of abuse, the reasons are as varied as the women themselves. From socialites to secretaries, these female criminals share one thing in common: at some point, they all snapped. The series will celebrate its 700th episode next year. Snapped is produced by Jupiter Entertainment. Patrick Reardon, David O'Donnell and Deborah Allen serve as executive producers, along with showrunner Madeline Griffey.

Mothers will do absolutely anything for their children. Snapped: Killer Moms (w/t) is a true crime series that highlights high-emotion and high-stakes stories where a mother's unconditional love twists into bloodshed, as matriarchs stop at nothing to protect or avenge their kids. Each episode peels back the layers of seemingly ordinary women whose motherly instincts lead them to unthinkable violence. Snapped: Killer Moms (w/t) is produced by Jupiter Entertainment. Patrick Reardon will serve as executive producer.

From 2001 to 2010, three women - a newlywed, a college hopeful, and a young mom - were murdered in cold blood. Separated by thousands of miles, they shared one connection: they were all "Hooters Girls." Hooters Murders: Deadly Shift (w/t) is a two-hour documentary that unravels the tragic murders of three "Hooters Girls," exposing how young women who worked at the iconic "family-restaurant" chain were preyed upon. Hooters Murders: Deadly Shift (w/t) is co-produced by Expectation and The Intellectual Property Corporation (a part of Sony Pictures Television). Kevin Brennecke will serve as showrunner with Ben Wicks and Tim Hincks of Expectation and Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman of The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) executive producing. The documentary was developed by Amy Dallmeyer.
