NEW YORK - May 14, 2026 - Prime Video's fifth season of exclusive Thursday Night Football (TNF) coverage opens and closes with a bang, and features a lot for fans to get excited about. An exciting mix of cross-divisional games, elite quarterback showdowns, and the first ever NFL regular season game at the Bills' brand-new Highmark Stadium highlight the regular-season slate. The 2026 campaign culminates with a pair of holiday contests with Texans vs. Eagles on Christmas Eve in Philadelphia, followed by a classic Ravens vs. Bengals AFC North showdown in Cincinnati on New Year's Eve.
"We are thrilled to kick off our fifth season of TNF with a terrific slate of games, starting with Detroit at Buffalo as the Bills open their new state-of-the-art stadium," said Jay Marine, Head of Prime Video U.S., Global Sports and Advertising. "This year's schedule is filled with outstanding matchups and the game's biggest stars as we continue the momentum of last year's record-setting TNF season."
Prime Video's upcoming NFL schedule features an outstanding lineup of games featuring the league's most exciting quarterbacks: Jared Goff vs. Josh Allen (Sept. 17); Drake Maye vs. Caleb Williams (Oct. 22); Jayden Daniels vs. Jaxson Dart (Nov. 12); Patrick Mahomes vs. Matthew Stafford (Dec. 3); and Lamar Jackson vs. Joe Burrow (Dec. 31). In addition, the schedule features several intriguing cross-divisional games, including an October 15th meeting between the World Champion Seahawks and the AFC West-champion Broncos, a matchup that almost stood as last year's Super Bowl. Other highlights include the aforementioned Mahomes vs. Stafford showdown when the Rams host the Chiefs the week after Thanksgiving, and the 49ers vs. Chargers clash on December 17.
The 2026 edition of Black Friday Football features the Broncos and Steelers facing off in a must-see game between two AFC division champions. Once again, this game will serve as the centerpiece of an all-day marathon of live sports on Prime Video, as Amazon welcomes the holiday season with exciting deals and value adds across its many cultural touchpoints.
Legendary play-by-play announcer Al Michaels and five-time Emmy Award-winning analyst Kirk Herbstreit return to call the main broadcast each week, with sideline reports from Kaylee Hartung. TNF host Charissa Thompson helms pregame, halftime and postgame coverage alongside Tony Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth and Richard Sherman, with feature stories and in-depth interviews from Taylor Rooks.
TNF's Prime Vision with Next Gen Stats weekly alternate stream returns with an arsenal of AI-powered broadcast enhancements called Prime Insights. These innovations, developed through a unique collaboration between Prime Video producers, engineers, and on-air analysts, are powered by AWS's industry-leading AI capabilities and infrastructure and continue to pioneer the integration of AI into the presentation of live sports.
Last year ranked as the most-watched season ever across the 20-year history of Thursday Night Football, averaging 15.33 million viewers throughout its 15-game campaign and marking the third-consecutive year of double-digit, year-over-year viewership growth. Since Prime Video's inaugural year of exclusive coverage in 2022, TNF's viewership has grown +60%. NFL on Prime culminated last season's coverage with a new record for the most-streamed NFL game in history, when the Packers-Bears Wild Card game in January averaged 31.61 million viewers.
The NFL uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) to power its schedule-making process each year, running high-performance computing workloads to find the best possible schedule. There are approximately a quadrillion possible schedule combinations each NFL season and over 26,000 factors to take into consideration, such as stadium availability, travel requirements, prime-time games, competitive fairness, and division rivalries.
Viewers in the U.S. can watch Thursday Night Football and Black Friday Football on Prime Video in their living rooms on connected televisions, streaming media players, or set-top boxes by using the Prime Video app, which is also available on mobile. In addition, viewers can stream online on Amazon, and on phones and tablets with NFL+.
