INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY SPOTLIGHTS THE HAIGHT FAMILY TRAGEDY IN NEW SPECIAL "TOXIC: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE HAIGHT HOUSE?"

ID Presents a Chilling Look Behind One of Utah's Most Devastating Domestic Violence Cases and the Reforms It Sparked

(New York, NY) -- Investigation Discovery (ID), the leading true crime network, today announced TOXIC: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE HAIGHT HOUSE?, a powerful two-hour special hosted by Elizabeth Chambers examining the tragic 2023 Haight family annihilation in Enoch, Utah. The special explores how years of coercive control, emotional abuse, and escalating violence remained hidden behind the façade of a seemingly perfect family, revealing the warning signs of escalating danger that were overlooked by those in a position to respond to them, ultimately preceding the murders of Tausha Haight, her five children, and her mother. The two-hour special TOXIC: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE HAIGHT HOUSE? premieres Tuesday, October 27 from 9-11pm ET/PT on ID and will be available to stream on HBO Max, anchoring the network's 5th annual NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE campaign for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Building on her acclaimed ID series TOXIC, Elizabeth Chambers traces Tausha Haight's quiet fight to reclaim her independence from her husband, Michael Haight, filing for divorce just two weeks before the murders. Through a harrowing examination of the indicators of escalating risk, and the systemic failures that prevented intervention, Chambers is joined by true crime commentator and Serialously podcast host Annie Elise, who helps unpack the key indicators of escalating danger through the lens of the Lethality Assessment Protocol, a critical tool now used by law enforcement agencies across Utah and beyond in domestic violence response. Together, they revisit the devastating case and the reforms it helped inspire, while candid interviews with friends, therapists, and advocates closest to the family illuminate the lasting impact of the tragedy. The two-hour special ultimately delivers a powerful message: recognizing the warning signs of abuse and intervening early can save lives.

Now in its 5th year, NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE is ID's month-long commitment to survivor-centered storytelling and advocacy, featuring PSAs and programming throughout October. The campaign also includes new episodes of TOXIC airing Tuesdays at 10/9c, in which Chambers explores domestic abuse, manipulation, and generational trauma through survivor stories and expert perspectives.

ID continues its partnership with The National Domestic Violence Hotline and NO MORE, extending the campaign's impact beyond the screen with critical resources for those experiencing abuse. Learn more and access support resources at NoExcuseForAbuse.com.
