CBS placed first in viewers and adults 25-54 and second in adults 18-49 as the Network regained domination of Thursday after two weeks of pre-emptions for college basketball, continued strength from rookie drama THE UNIT and time period wins for CSI: MIAMI, CSI: NY and NUMB3RS, according to Nielsen ratings for the week ending April 2, week 28 of the 2005-2006 television season.
For the week in viewers, CBS (12.91m) topped FOX (10.44m), NBC (9.22m) and ABC (8.92m). Season-to-date, CBS (12.67m) leads, followed by ABC (11.28m), NBC (9.95m) and FOX (9.79m).
For the week in households, CBS (8.3/14) was +32% ahead of FOX (6.3/10), +38% ahead of NBC (6.0/10) and +46% ahead of ABC (5.7/09). Season-to-date, CBS is first in households (8.2/13), outpacing ABC by +15% (7.1/11), NBC by +26% (6.5/10) and FOX by +37% (6.0/10).
For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and second in adults 18-49 (3.9/11). Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and is in a three-way battle with FOX and ABC for leadership in adults 18-49.
� SURVIVOR: PANAMA -- EXILE ISLAND was first in households (9.6/15), viewers (16.25m), adults 25-54 (7.1/18), adults 18-49 (5.8/17) and adults 18-34 (4.0/13). Compared to the last first run Thursday episode (3/9/06), SURVIVOR was up +7% in households (from 9.0/14), +11% in adults 18-34 (from 3.6/10), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 5.5/14), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 6.8/16) and added +810,000 viewers (from 15.44m, +5%). This is SURVIVOR's best delivery in household, viewers and key demos since Feb.16, 2006.
� CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (15.9/24), viewers (25.23m), adults 25-54 (10.1/23), adults 18-49 (8.0/20) and adults 18-34 (5.5/16). CSI topped NBC and ABC combined in households (vs. 11.4/18, +39%), viewers (vs. 18.18m, +39%), adults 25-54 (vs. 9.0/21, +12%) and matched the two networks combined in adults 18-49.
� WITHOUT A TRACE was first in households (12.2/21), viewers (18.48m), adults 25-54 (7.0/17) and adults 18-49 (5.6/15). WITHOUT A TRACE topped NBC's "E.R." by +40% in households (vs. 8.7/15), +45% in viewers (vs. 12.78m), +4% in adults 25-54 (vs. 6.7/17) and +2% in adults 18-49 (vs. 5.5/15).
� THE UNIT was second in households (10.0/15), viewers (16.09m), adults 25-54 (6.0/13) and adults 18-49 (4.6/11). Compared to last week, THE UNIT was up +4% in viewers (from 15.50m), +5% in adults 25-54 (from 5.7/12) and +10% in adults 18-49 (from 4.2/09). THE UNIT built on its NCIS lead by +20% in viewers, +59% in adults 18-49 and +46% in adults 25-54.
� CRIMINAL MINDS topped "Law & Order" +25% in households (8.1/12 vs. 6.5/10), +34% in viewers (12.54m vs. 9.35m), +39% in adults 25-54 (4.6/10 vs. 3.3/07), +30% in adults 18-49 (3.5/08 vs. 2.7/06) and +10% in adults 18-34 (2.3/06 vs. 2.1/06). CRIMINAL MINDS finished in its best competitive position behind a first run "Lost" in viewers (-3.65m) for the second consecutive week. This is only the second time a first run CRIMINAL MINDS trailed a first run "Lost" by less than 4 million viewers. CSI: NY dominated "Heist" in households (vs. 4.9/08, +98%), viewers (vs. 7.33m, +102%), adults 25-54 (vs. 3.0/07, +93%), adults 18-49 (vs. 2.5/07, +84%) and adults 18-34 (vs. 1.9/06, +53%). CSI: NY easily topped "The Evidence" in households (vs. 5.2/09, +87%), viewers (vs. 7.71m, +92%), adults 25-54 (vs. 3.5/09, +66%), adults 18-49 (vs. 3.0/08, +53%) and adults 18-34 (vs. 2.5/08, +16%).
� CSI: MIAMI (R) won its time period in households (11.0/18), viewers (16.46m), adults 25-54 (6.7/16), adults 18-49 (5.3/14) and adults 18-34 (3.7/11). CSI: MIAMI beat NBC and ABC combined in households (vs. 10.2/17, +8%), viewers (vs. 14.74m, +12%) and adults 25-54 (vs. 6.5/16, +3%).
� An episode of NUMB3RS directed by series star Rob Morrow, was first in households (7.8/14), viewers (12.09m), adults 25-54 (4.6/13) and adults 18-49 (3.4/10). NUMB3RS was first in its time period for the 22nd time this season in viewers and adults 25-54, 21st time in households and 18th time in adults 18-49 (in 25 broadcasts).
� From 8:00-8:14PM, the primetime run over of CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY -- 1 posted a 10.5/20 with 17.08m viewers.
