December 7, 2006 (Burbank, CA) - With the highest rated finale of "America's Next Top Model" and the best "One Tree Hill" in more than a year and a half, The CW scored the highest rated night in network history among adults 18-34 (3.3/10) and women 18-34 (5.0/14), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Dec. 6.

The potent combination of "Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" lead The CW ahead of all competition last night, winning Wednesday in adults 18-34 and women 18-34, and topping Fox and ABC in adults 18-49 (2.4/7) and women 18-49 (3.7/9).

The 7th cycle finale of "Top Model" was the highest-rated finale EVER in adults 18-34 (4.0/13), women 18-34 (6.0/17) and adults 18-49 (3.0/9-tie).

Not only was last night this season's best, "Top Model" posted the highest-rated telecast of the series since cycle 2 in adults 18-34 and women 18-34 (best since 2/24/04). It was also the highest rated episode of "Top Model" since 5/18/05 in adults 18-49 (3.0/9) and women 18-49 (4.5/12) and best since 12/7/05 in viewers (6.3mil).

"Top Model" easily won the hour in adults 18-34 (4.0/13), women 18-34 (6.0/17), women 18-49 (4.5/12). "Top Model" ranked second in adults 18-49 (3.0/9), behind only CBS.

Beyond posting season highs, "One Tree Hill" scored its best women 18-34 (4.1/11) performance since February 22, 2005, tying it for the 4th best telecast in the show's history in the demo. "One Tree Hill" also posted its best performance in a year and a half among adults 18-34 (2.6/8, since 4/26/05), adults 18-49 (1.9/5, since 4/26/05) and viewers (4.2mil, since 5/17/05).

"One Tree Hill" ranked second in the 9:00-10:00p.m. hour among women 18-34 (4.1/11) and adults 18-34 (2.6/8-tie).

The CW's Wednesday line-up marks a significant improvement over both UPN and The WB on the same night a year ago (12/7/05) in all key demos. Compared to The WB's Wednesday, The CW was up 136% in adults 18-34, 163% in women 18-34, 100% in adults 18-49 and 147% in women 18-49. Versus UPN's year ago Wednesday, The CW is up 22% in adults 18-34, 25% in women 18-34, 9% in adults 18-49 and 19% in women 18-49.
