'THE 64TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS' WALKS OFF WITH NBC'S BIGGEST NON-OLYMPIC MONDAY IN TWO-AND-A-HALF YEARS IN 18-49 AND BIGGEST IN TOTAL VIEWERS IN SEVEN YEARS

IT'S THE TOP-RATED 'GOLDEN GLOBES' IN THREE YEARS AND TOP AWARDS TELECAST ON ANY NETWORK FOR THE CURRENT TELEVISION SEASON

BURBANK, Calif. � January 16, 2007 � NBC's telecast of "The 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards" has delivered NBC's highest-rated non-Olympic Monday among adults 18-49 in more than two-and-a-half years and most-watched non-Olympic Monday in total viewers in more than seven years

Monday's "Golden Globes" averaged a 6.5 rating, 15 share in adults 18-49 and 20.0 million viewers overall from 8-11 p.m. ET, according to "live plus same day" "fast affiliate-based" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. The 6.5 average in 18-49 for primetime last night is NBC's highest on a non-Olympic Monday since May 3, 2004 ("Fear Factor," "10.5, Part 2"). The 20.0 million average in total viewers is NBC's highest for a non-Olympic Monday since May 3, 1999 ("Suddenly Susan," "Mad About You" and "Noah's Ark, Part 2").

This is the highest-scoring "Golden Globes" in 18-49 and total viewers in three years, since Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004.

Last night's telecast won the night in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, total viewers and all key adult-female demographics, out-rating competition that included Fox's first Monday telecasts this season for "24." The "Golden Globes" telecast improved on NBC's first-place Monday 18-49 season average by 51 percent (6.5 vs. 4.3 in "live plus same day").

This year's "Golden Globes" telecast is up 3 percent versus last year's result in 18-49 and up 1.2 million viewers overall, to rank as the season's #1 awards show to date in 18-49 and total viewers.

Preliminary 18-49 averages for Monday night are: NBC, 6.5/15; Fox, 5.9/13; ABC, 3.3/8; CBS, 3.2/7; CW, 0.8/2. Among total viewers, preliminary January 15 averages are: NBC, 20.0 million; Fox, 15.7 million; CBS, 9.8 million; ABC, 7.4 million; CW, 1.8 million.

In local-market late-night results last night, "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (5.6 rating, 15 share in metered-market households) defeated CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" (3.4/8), and ABC's "Nightline" (2.6/6) and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (1.2/4 with an encore telecast). Jay has finished #1 versus regular competition on 85 of 86 nights so far this season in the metered markets (including ties).

At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" (2.1/8) beat CBS' "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.5/5) and the second half of Kimmel. Conan has finished #1 versus regular competition on 85 of 86 nights so far this season in the metered markets (including ties).
