NEW YORK -- June 7, 2007 -- A chilling paranormal investigation and an unforgettable trek through Papua New Guinea were just what viewers were looking for Wednesday night with the premiere of Ghost Hunters and the series debut of Destination Truth, respectively. The new, one-hour episode of Ghost Hunters delivered a 1.3 HH rating and 1.6 million total viewers (P2+), improving the Channel's performance in the time period (9pm-10pm) by +74% in HH ratings, +97% in P18-49 and +87% in P25-54 from the previous four weeks. Last night SCI FI delivered its best-ever second quarter Wednesday and ranked #3 among all cable networks in P18-49.

Ghost Hunters scored its best P18-49 and P18-34 deliveries for any season premiere in the history of the series.

Destination Truth is the network's best alternative series premiere in all key demos since Ghost Hunters' premiere in October 2004.

Destination Truth retained 83% of P18-49 from its Ghost Hunters lead-in.

Last night's episode of Ghost Hunters featured the team's first-ever European investigation, exploring the mysterious Lisheen Ruins in Ireland and traveling to England to explore The Viaduct Tavern, an establishment that was built over a 18th Century prison.

In addition to the six brand new episodes airing this summer, Ghost Hunters will finish off its third season this fall with five bonus episodes and the 2nd annual Ghost Hunters Live special on Halloween night! America's favorite paranormal plumbers, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, will deliver 13 more episodes of spine-tingling investigations when the show returns for a fourth season in 2008.

Josh Gates is a world adventurer and eager truth-seeker who takes viewers off the map in his quest to reveal unexplained mysteries in the all-new original adventure series, Destination Truth. Each week, Josh and his small crew of production buddies visit a different global destination that is home to legendary, supernatural and mysterious stories, such as the dinosaur-like creatures reported in the skies over Papua, New Guinea. Josh searches for evidence to either prove or debunk these stories by talking to witnesses and experts and immersing himself in the local culture. The series is executive produced by Neil and Michael Mandt.
