Channel Achieves Double-Digit Growth In Female Demographics

NEW YORK � July 1, 2008 � SCI FI enjoyed a stellar second quarter, securing its place as the #6 ranked basic cable entertainment network among Adults 25-54 and #10 among Adults 18-49. The Channel achieved its best second quarter ever among total viewers, Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54, Women 18-49 (up +14%), Women 25-54 (up +13%) and Men 18-34. It was also a destination for younger viewers, with its best second quarter finish ever among Adults 18-34. SCI FI's growth this quarter was driven by the success of its original series Ghost Hunters and Battlestar Galactica as well as standout performances among its movie broadcasts and original specials.

This spring, the hit reality series Ghost Hunters enjoyed its best season ever, delivering a 1.9 Household rating, 2.7 million total viewers, 1.7 million Adults 18-49 and 1.7 million Adults 25-54. Compared to last season, it was up +35% in total viewers, up +28% in Adults 18-34, up +32% in Adults 18-49, and up +40% in Adults 25-54. Ghost Hunters also continued to prove immensely popular among female viewers, with this season scoring the highest viewership for any SCI FI original series ever among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54. In addition, this season has produced the top four telecasts among Women 25-54 and the top two telecasts among Women 18-49 among all original series telecasts in the Channel's 15-year history.

The first half of Battlestar Galactica season four (premiering April 4) averaged a 1.8 Household rating, 2.3 million total viewers, 1.6 million Adults 18-49 and 1.7 million Adults 25-54. Compared to the most recent half-season (Season 3.5), it is up +18% in total viewers, up +14% in Adults 18-49, and up +22% in Adults 25-54.

On the movies and specials front, SCI FI 's primetime telecast of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade on Saturday, May 17 delivered a 3.0 Household rating, 2.1 million Adults18-49 and 2.4 million Adults 25-54 and was the top movie telecast in the history of the Channel (excluding miniseries) in Household ratings and Adults 25-54. On Sunday, May 18, the premiere of SCI FI's original special Mystery of the Crystal Skulls was the Channel's top documentary of all time, scoring a 2.2 Household rating, 1.5 million Adults 18-49 and 1.5 million Adults 25-54.

SCIFI.COM enjoyed phenomenal growth this quarter as well, with double and triple digit increases year over year. The site celebrated its best quarter ever in page views (36 million, up +63% compared to 2Q 2007), unique users (3.4 million, up +36%), visits (up +51%) and video streams (up +221%). In addition, SCI FI Rewind, SCIFI.COM's dynamic video player, had a successful debut quarter with an average of 2.9 million streams per month.
