CBS MAKES IT THREE IN A ROW

Network Places First in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 for the Third Consecutive Week

CBS Is the Only Network to Post Year-to-Year Gains in All Key Measures

Network Is First in Viewers on 5 Nights; First in Adults 18-49 on 4 Nights

"CSI" is #1 Show of the Week; "NCIS" Soars to #2 and "The Mentalist" #5

Network Places 11 of the Top 20 Shows

CBS placed first in all key measures for the third consecutive week and was the only network to post year-to-year increases, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct. 19, week four of the 2008-2009 season.

CBS placed first in viewers on five nights (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday), first in adults 18-49 on four nights (Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) and is now first for the season in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

"CSI" was the week's #1 program for the second consecutive week; "NCIS" was #2 and freshman drama THE MENTALIST was #5.

For the week in viewers: CBS (11.47m), ABC (9.15m), NBC (7.21m) and FOX (6.73m). Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (11.54m), ahead of ABC (10.34m), NBC (7.86m) and FOX (7.44m).

For the week in households: CBS (7.3/12), ABC (5.9/10), NBC (4.6/07) and FOX (4.2/07). Season-to-date, CBS is first (7.3/12), ahead of ABC (6.7/11), NBC (4.9/08) and FOX (4.6/07).

For the third consecutive week, CBS was first in both adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +3% in households, +4% in viewers, +5% in adults 25-54 and +7% in adults 18-49. CBS was the only network to post year-to-year gains in all these measures. Season-to-date, CBS is first in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

CBS's Weekly Highlights:

-- Monday, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.8/11), adults 18-49 (4.0/10), second in households (7.3/11) and viewers (11.58m). CBS placed first in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 for four consecutive Mondays.

? THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in adults 18-34 (2.8/08), second in households (5.8/09), viewers (9.34m), adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10).

? HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in adults 18-34 (3.3/09), second in households (5.6/08), viewers (9.25m), adults 25-54 (4.5/10) and adults 18-49 (3.9/10).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in adults 25-54 (6.4/14), adults 18-49 (5.3/12), second in both households (9.0/13) and viewers (14.72m).

? WORST WEEK was second in households (6.3/09), viewers (9.75m), adults 25-54 (4.1/09) and adults 18-49 (3.2/07). WORST WEEK topped the season premiere of "Samantha Who?" in both adults 25-54 (vs. 3.9/08, +5%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 3.0/07, +7%). Compared to last week, WORST WEEK was up +11% in both households (from 5.7/08) and adults 25-54 (from 3.7/08), +7% in adults 18-49 (from 3.0/07) and added +900,000 viewers (from 8.85m, +10%).

? CSI: MIAMI was first in households (8.7/14), viewers (13.22m), adults 25-54 (5.0/12) and adults 18-49 (3.9/10).

-- Tuesday, CBS was first in households (9.3/15), viewers (14.68m), second in adults 25-54 (4.4/11) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (3.3/09, with NBC). This was CBS's fourth consecutive Tuesday win in viewers this season.

? NCIS won its time period in households (11.2/17), viewers (18.04m), finished second in adults 25-54 (5.2/13) and adults 18-49 (3.9/11). Compared to last week's episode, NCIS was up +11% in households (from 10.1/15), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 5.0/12), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 3.7/10) and added +1.75m viewers (from 16.29m, +11%). This is NCIS's best delivery in viewers and adults 18-49 since Nov. 6, 2007.

? THE MENTALIST was first in viewers (14.94m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11), second in households (9.4/14) and adults 18-49 (3.4/08). THE MENTALIST has finished first in its time slot in adults 25-54 for two consecutive broadcasts.

? WITHOUT A TRACE was first in households (7.3/12), viewers (11.05m), second in adults 25-54 (3.4/09) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07). WITHOUT A TRACE won its time slot in viewers for the second consecutive broadcast.

? THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE won its time slot in households (5.1/08), viewers (7.61m), adults 25-54 (2.8/08) and adults 18-49 (2.2/06). Compared to last week, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE was up +2% in households (from 5.0/08), even in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 and added +80,000 viewers (from 7.53m, +1%). THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE posted season highs in households and viewers, matched it season best adults 18-49 delivery.

? GARY UNMARRIED (5.0/08, 7.53m) was tied for first in adults 25-54 (3.0/07, with NBC), second in households with series highs in both households and viewers.

-- Thursday, CBS was first in households (9.2/15), viewers (14.70m), adults 25-54 (5.5/13) and adults 18-49 (4.2/11). This is CBS's second consecutive Thursday night win in these measures. CBS was first in households, viewers and adults 25-54 in every half-hour.

? SURVIVOR: GABON was first in households (7.8/13), viewers (12.81m), adults 25-54 (5.2/13) and adults 18-49 (4.2/12).

? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION won its time period for the second consecutive week in households (11.8/18), viewers (19.28m) and adults 25-54 (7.1/16). CSI was second adults 18-49 (5.2/13).

? ELEVENTH HOUR was first in households (7.8/13), viewers (11.91m), adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and second in adults 18-49 (3.2/09). Compared to last week's series premiere, ELEVENTH HOUR was up +8% in households (from 7.2/12), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.1/10), even in adults 18-49 while adding +540,000 viewers (from 11.37m, +5%).

-- On Friday, CBS was first in households (5.3/09), viewers (7.98m), adults 25-54 (2.9/08) and adults 18-49 (2.2/07). CBS matched its prior two weeks' delivery in adults 18-49. CBS was first in every half-hour in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 for the third consecutive week.

? GHOST WHISPERER was first in households (5.9/11), viewers (8.97m), adults 25-54 (3.4/11) and adults 18-49 (2.6/09).

? THE EX LIST was first in adults 25-54 (2.5/07), adults 18-49 (2.0/06), second in households (4.2/07) and viewers (6.29m). Compared to last week, THE EX LIST was up +8% in households (from 3.9/07), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 2.4/07), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 1.9/06) and added +690,000 viewers (from 5.60m, +12%).

? NUMB3RS won its time period in households (5.7/10), viewers (8.68m), adults 25-54 (2.9/08) and adults 18-49 (2.1/07). Compared to last week, NUMB3RS was up +8% in households (from 5.3/10), even in adults 25-54 and added +670,000 viewers (from 8.01m, +8%).

? 48 HOURS MYSTERY won its time slot in households (4.4/08), viewers (6.43m), adults 25-54 (2.2/06) and was tied for first in adults 18-49 (1.6/05, with ABC). 48 HOURS MYSTERY was the night's #1 program in households and viewers.

-- Sunday, CBS was first in households (9.3/15), viewers (14.68m), adults 25-54 (5.2/12) and adults 18-49 (4.1/10). CBS's NFL 45-minute prime run over posted a 16.7/30 with 27.19m viewers, 10.5/30 in adults 25-54 and 9.0/29 in adults 18-49. CBS led the 7:00-7:30 PM time period in households, viewers and key demographics.

? 60 MINUTES (7:45-8:45 PM) posted a 9.4/15 with 14.53m viewers, 4.5/11 in adults 25-54 and 3.3/09 in adults 18-49. From 7:30-8:30 PM, 60 MINUTES was first in these measures.
