GRAMMY AWARDS PACE CBS TO FIRST PLACE IN VIEWERS

Network Moves Into Plus Territory for the Season in Key Demos

CBS is the Only Network to Post Season-to-Date Gains in Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49

The "51st Annual Grammy Awards" Posts Across-the-Board Increases From Last Year

Led by THE 51ST ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS, CBS placed first in viewers and moved into the plus territory for the season in key demos, becoming the only network to post season-to-date gains in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Feb. 8, week 20 of the 2008-2009 television season.

CBS had six of the week's top 10 programs including THE 51ST ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS (#3) which posted year-to-year gains in viewers and all key demographic measures, 60 MINUTES (#4), which featured Katie Couric's exclusive interview with the crew of US Airways Flight 1549 and rebroadcasts of THE MENTALIST (#9) and NCIS (#10) both delivering larger audiences than all scripted series on the competition except for "Grey's Anatomy" and "House."

Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +16% in households, +20% in viewers and +14% in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. Season-to-date compared to last season, CBS is the ONLY broadcast network to improve its viewer delivery (+6%), adults 25-54 delivery (+2%) and adults 18-49 (+3%).

For the week in viewers: CBS (11.50m), FOX (10.75m), ABC (7.76m) and NBC (6.95m). Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (11.82m), ahead of FOX (8.95m), ABC (8.90m) and NBC (8.61m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and a close second in adults 18-49 (3.2/08, -0.1 behind FOX).

For the week in households: CBS (7.2/12), FOX (6.3/10), ABC (4.9/08) and NBC (4.4/07). In households, season-to-date, CBS is first (7.4/12), ahead of ABC (5.6/09), FOX (5.4/09) and NBC (5.2/08).

CBS Weekly Highlights:

? THE BIG BANG THEORY was second in households (6.6/10), viewers (10.84m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (4.1/10). Compared to the last first-run episode (on Jan. 19), THE BIG BANG THEORY was up +3% in both households (from 6.4/09) and adults 18-34 (3.0/08 from 2.9/08) and +2% in adults 18-49 (from 4.0/10).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in households (10.0/15), viewers (16.55m), adults 25-54 (6.9/14) and adults 18-49 (5.5/12). TWO AND A HALF MEN was up +2% in both households (from 9.8/14) and adults 18-49 (from 5.4/12), +3% in adults 25-54 (from 6.7/14) and added +460,000 viewers (from 16.09m, +3%) compared to the last first-run episode (from Jan. 19th).

? CSI MIAMI was first in households (10.2/17), viewers (16.10m), adults 25-54 (5.8/14) and adults 18-49 (4.5/11). Compared to the last first-run episode (on Jan. 19th), CSI: MIAMI was up +10% in households (from 9.3/15), +16% in adults 25-54 (from 5.0/12), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 3.8/10) and added +1.52m viewers (from 14.58m, +10%). This is CSI: MIAMI's best delivery in households, viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 since September 22, 2008 (season premiere).

? NCIS (R) was second in households (8.6/13), viewers (13.85m) and adults 25-54 (4.0/09), all behind FOX's "American Idol".

? THE MENTALIST (R) was first in households (9.0/14) and viewers (14.44m).

? GHOST WHISPERER won its time slot in households (7.1/13), viewers (11.42m), adults 25-54 (3.8/11) and adults 18-49 (2.8/09). Compared to the last first run episode (on 1/22/08), GHOST WHISPERER was up +1% in households (from 7.0/12), even in adults 18-49 and added +240,000 viewers (from 11.18m, +2%).

? NUMB3RS won its time slot in households (6.5/11), viewers (10.30m), adults 25-54 (3.1/09) and adults 18-49 (2.3/07).

-- On Sunday, CBS was first in households (11.2/18), viewers (18.96m), adults 25-54 (7.1/16), adults 18-49 (6.5/16) and adults 18-34 (5.7/16). CBS won every half-hours in viewers Sunday night.

? 60 MINUTES was first in households (10.4/17), viewers (16.74m), adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and second behind NBC's Pro-Bowl coverage in adults 18-49 (3.1/09). This is 60 MINUTES best deliveries in both households and viewers since Dec. 14, 2008, best performances in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Jan.11, 2009.

? THE 51st ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS (S) (8:00-11:31 PM) posted an 11.2/18 in households with 19.05m viewers, 7.8/18 in adults 25-54, 7.4/18 in adults 18-49, 6.9/18 in adults 18-34 and 5.0/17 in teens. From 8:00-11:00 PM, CBS was first in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and teens. THE GRAMMYS are the night's #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and teens and won every half-hour in these measures. Compared to last year's ceremony (same night last year, 8:00-11:40 PM), THE GRAMMY AWARDS was up +9% in households, +10% in adults 25-54, +14% in adults 18-49, +23% in adults 18-34 and +28% in teens.
