CBS WINS SECOND STRAIGHT SUMMER WEEK

CBS has 3 of Top 4 Scripted Programs

"The Tony Awards" Deliver Best Ratings in Three Years

CBS won the second week of the summer season in viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending June 7, week 37 of the 2008-09 television year.

In a week in which CBS had 11 of the top 20 programs and delivered at least half of the top 20 programs for the 11th week in a row, the Network had three of the top four scripted programs. NCIS (R), THE MENTALIST TUESDAY (R), TWO AND A HALF MEN (R), outperforming all scripted programming on the competition except for the "Law & Order: SVU" finale.

For the week in viewers: CBS (7.14m) ABC (6.21m), NBC (6.14m) and FOX (5.19m). Summer-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (7.59m), NBC (5.73m), FOX (5.34m), ABC (5.22m).

For the week in key demographics: CBS scored 2.2/06 in adults 25-54 and 1.6/05 adults 18-49.

For the week in households: CBS (4.7/08), NBC (4.0/07), ABC (3.9/07) and FOX (3.3/06). In households, summer-to-date, CBS is first (5.0/09), NBC (3.7/07), FOX (3.4/06), ABC (3.3/06).

? THE BIG BANG THEORY (R) was first in viewers (6.77m), adults 25-54 (2.9/09), adults 18-49 (2.3/08) and second in households (4.1/07, -0.1 behind ABC).

? HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (R) (3.8/06, 6.19m) was tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.9/08, with NBC), second in adults 18-49 (2.4/07).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN (R) won its time slot in households (6.3/10), viewers (10.10m), adults 25-54 (3.8/10) and adults 18-49 (3.1/09). TWO AND A HALF MEN was the night's #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

? RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (R) was first in households (5.2/08), viewers (8.31m), adults 25-54 (3.5/08) and second in adults 18-49 (2.8/07, -0.2 behind NBC).

? CSI: MIAMI (R) was first in households (5.7/10), viewers (8.52m), second in adults 25-54 (2.8/07) and adults 18-49 (2.2/06, -0.1 behind NBC).

? NCIS (R) was first in households (7.4/13), viewers (11.26m), adults 25-54 (3.1/09) and second in adults 18-49 (2.1/07, -0.1 behind NBC's first run programming).

? THE MENTALIST TUESDAY (R) was first in households (7.0/11), viewers (10.88m), adults 25-54 (3.3/08) and second behind NBC's first run programming in adults 18-49 (2.3/07).

? GHOST WHISPERER (R) was first in households (3.6/07), viewers (5.38m), adults 25-54 (1.6/06) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (1.1/05, with both NBC and FOX). GHOST WHISPERER won its time slot for the 28th time this season in households and viewers, 27th time in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

? THE 63RD ANNUAL TONY AWARDS (S) (8:00-11:05pm) delivered a 4.8/08 with 7.43m viewers, 1.8/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.3/04 in adults 18-49. From 8:00-11:00PM, CBS was second in households and viewers. Compared to last year's ceremony (6/15/08), THE 63RD ANNUAL TONY AWARDS were up +9% in households (from 4.4/08), +20% in adults 25-54 (from 1.5/04), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 1.1/03) and added +1.16m viewers (from 6.27m, +19%). This was CBS's best TONY AWARDS delivery in these measures since June 11, 2006's ceremony.
