"Two and a Half Men" Is Television's Number One Comedy in Viewers; "The Big Bang Theory" Is Number One in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54

"The Big Bang Theory" Hits Series Highs in Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Adults 25-54

CBS Extends Its Season Long Winning Streak to Five Weeks

The combination of TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY has made CBS's Monday (9:00-10:00 PM) block network television's hour of comedy power.

TWO AND A HALF MEN remains television's Number One comedy in viewers while the relocated THE BIG BANG THEORY has catapulted into the Number One spot among comedies in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

Last week, THE BIG BANG THEORY delivered series highs in viewers (13.47m), adults 25-54 (6.3/14) and adults 18-34 (4.0/11) and matches best adults 18-49 delivery (5.3/13).

Compared to last season when it aired at 8:00 PM, THE BIG BANG THEORY is up +48% in viewers (14.16m from 9.56m), +49% in adults 18-49 (5.5 from 3.7) and +50% in adults 25-54 (6.6 from 4.4), according to most current ratings.

This season, THE BIG BANG THEORY has built on its TWO AND A HALF MEN lead-in by +10% in adults 18-49, +21% in adults 18-34 and +5% in adults 25-54.

TWO AND A HALF remains television's top comedy in viewers, averaging 14.16 million, 5.0 in adults 18-49 (No. 2 only behind THE BIG BANG THEORY) and 6.3 in adults 25-54 (also No. 2).

Meanwhile, CBS extended its season-long winning streak in viewers to five weeks, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct. 25, week five of the 2009-2010 television season.

NCIS and NCIS: LOS ANGELES were the number one show and number one new show for the fifth consecutive week marking the first time the same network has had the same #1 show and #1 new show for the first five weeks of the season since fall 1994 (ABC's "Home Improvement" and "Ellen").

For the week in viewers: CBS (10.74m), FOX (10.28m), ABC (9.06m) and NBC (7.24m). Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (12.30m), ahead of ABC (9.96m), FOX (8.70m) and NBC (7.82m).

For the week in demographics, CBS was second in both adults 25-54 (3.6/09) and adults 18-49 (2.7/08). Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and a close second in adults 18-49 (3.3/09).

For the week in households: CBS (6.8/11), FOX (6.3/10), ABC (5.9/10) and NBC (4.6/08). In households, season-to-date, CBS is first (7.7/13), +20% ahead of ABC (6.4/10), +48% ahead of FOX (5.2/08), +57% ahead of NBC (4.9/08) and +381% ahead of CW (1.6/03).

-- Tuesday, CBS was first in households (10.7/17), viewers (17.00m), adults 25-54 (5.3/13) for the fifth consecutive Tuesday and won adults 18-49 (3.8/10) for the fourth time in five weeks. CBS won every half-hour in viewers and adults 25-54 also for the fifth consecutive week.

? NCIS won its time slot in households (13.0/21), viewers (21.25m), adults 25-54 (6.5/17) and adults 18-49 (4.7/13) for the fifth consecutive week. This was NCIS's best household delivery ever, matches best adults 25-54 delivery and for the third consecutive week this was NCIS's second largest audience ever. Compared to last week, NCIS was up +1% in households (from 12.9/20), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 6.4/16), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 4.5/13) and added +210,000 viewers (from 21.04m, +1%). ? THE GOOD WIFE was first in households (8.8/15) and viewers (13.26m), for the fifth consecutive week, second behind FOX's baseball coverage in both adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and adults 18-49 (2.8/08). Compared to last week, THE GOOD WIFE was up +1% in households (from 8.7/15), +5% in adults 25-54 (from 3.8/10), even in adults 18-49 and added +280,000 viewers (from 12.98m, +2%).

? CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (9.0/14), viewers (14.27m), adults 25-54 (5.0/12) and adults 18-49 (3.8/10) for the fifth consecutive week. Compared to last week, CRIMINAL MINDS was up +6% in households (from 8.5/13), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 4.2/11), even in adults 18-49 and added +350,000 viewers (from 13.92m, +3%). CRIMINAL MINDS was the night's #1 program in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 for the fifth straight week.

? CSI: NY was first in households (8.4/14), viewers (13.01m), adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and adults 18-49 (3.0/08) for the fifth consecutive week.

? SURVIVOR: SAMOA was first in households (7.6/12), viewers (12.90m), adults 25-54 (5.0/13) and adults 18-49 (4.0/12). This was SURVIVOR's best deliveries in households and viewers since February 19, 2009 and its best adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 performances since March 12, 2009. Compared to last week, SURVIVOR: SAMOA was up +9% in households (from 7.0/11), +11% in adults 25-54 (from 4.5/12), +14% in adults 18-49 (from 3.5/10) and added +1.12m viewers (from 11.78m, +10%).

? THE AMAZING RACE 15 (6.4/10, 11.22m) posted its best delivery in both viewers and adults 25-54 (4.3/10) since March 29, 2009, best adults 18-49 performance (3.4/09) since September 27, 2009 (the season 15 premiere).
