Season Six Premiere Episode of 'Deadliest Catch' Blasts Ratings Records and Sees Largest Audience in Series History

SEASON SIX PREMIERE EPISODE OF 'DEADLIEST CATCH' BLASTS RATINGS RECORDS AND SEES LARGEST AUDIENCE IN SERIES HISTORY

'Deadliest Catch' and 'Construction Intervention' Earn Discovery Channel #1 Spot on Tuesday Night

The Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 9PM premiere episode of DEADLIEST CATCH pulled in a 3.09 HH and a 2.66 P25-54 AA%, making it the highest-rated episode in series history among most key demos including HH, P2+, P/M25-54, P18-49, P18+ and P/M/W35-54 in delivery and ratings. The season six premiere episode also earned a spot as one of the top 25 highest rated primetime telecasts in Discovery Channel history among P25-54.

The episode posted double-digit gains when compared to the year-ago time slot and triple-digit gains versus time slot norms year-to-date, drawing in more viewers than ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS, CBS's NCIS and NBC's THE BIGGEST LOSER among key demos.

Following DEADLIEST CATCH, all-new series CONSTRUCTION INTERVENTION, which debuted at 10PM, was the #4 cable telecast in its time slot among M25-54 and the #5 cable telecast among M18-49. The episode posted double-digit gains when compared to time slot norms on the network year to-date.

The ratings success of DEADLIEST CATCH and CONSTRUCTION INTERVENTION made Discovery Channel the #1 cable network in primetime on April 13 for P/M 25-54 and P/M 18-49
