ABC's "Modern Family" Leapfrogs Over Fox's "Glee" in DVR Playback to Stand as TV's #1 Scripted Show

DVR Playback for the week of 11/15/10 (Week #9):

ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and "Modern Family" registered as TV's Top 2 gainers from the first-reported numbers to the DVR finals among Adults 18-49. "Grey's Anatomy" and "Modern Family" each added on 1.5 rating points to their initial totals, jumping by +35% and +31%, respectively, from the Live + Same Day to the Live + 7 Day Adult 18-49 averages. In fact it was the 9th straight week this season for ABC to deliver the #1 television show in DVR playback gains, in the key young adult sales demo.

· As a result of DVR playback, ABC's "Modern Family" emerged as TV's #1 scripted show for the week in Adults 18-49, leapfrogging over Fox's "Glee" to top Nielsen's final rankings. Initially in the Live + Same Day statistics, "Glee" was the top-rated scripted show for the week, by a margin of 2-tenths of a rating point.

· ABC broadcasted 3 of the week's Top 7 biggest overall Total Viewer gainers (including 2 of the Top 3) with each show picking up over 2.5 million viewers from the first-reported overnight numbers: "Modern Family" - #2 (+3.14 million), "Grey's Anatomy" - #3 (+2.94 million) and "Castle" - #7 (+2.51 million).
