NBC RATINGS RESULTS FOR THE LATE-NIGHT WEEK OF OCT. 17-21

JAY LENO, JIMMY FALLON AND CARSON DALY ENCORES GROW VS. THE SAME WEEK LAST YEAR IN TOTAL VIEWERS

SEASON TO DATE, JAY AND JIMMY HAVE STRETCHED THEIR TOTAL-VIEWER LEADS OVER CBS'S 'LATE SHOW' AND 'LATE LATE SHOW' RESPECTIVELY

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - October 27, 2011 - Encore telecasts of NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" have averaged a 0.8 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall for the week of October 17-21, matching the show's year-ago 18-49 rating and growing 1 percent in total viewers. In total viewers, "Tonight" topped CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" for the week by an 8 percent margin (3.255 million vs. 3.015 million), reversing the order for the same week last year, when "Late Show" won by an edge of 0.3 percent.

At 12:35 a.m. ET for the week, rebroadcasts of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" delivered a 0.5/2 in adults 18-49 and 1.5 million viewers overall, equaling the show's year-ago 18-49 rating and in total viewers growing by 5 percent. Jimmy reversed the order for the same week last year in total viewers, as the "Late Night" encores out-delivered CBS's original "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" by a 1 percent margin (1.481 million vs. 1.464 million) after "Late Late Show" had prevailed by a 17 percent margin during the same week last year (when both shows were in rebroadcast).

Through the first five weeks of the season, "Tonight" has increased its total-viewer margin over "Late Show" to 10 percent (3.584 million vs. 3.256 million), up from the year-ago advantage of 3 percent. Jimmy Fallon has established a total-viewer lead over "Late Late Show" this season of 12 percent (1.697 million vs. 1.510 million), after trailing by 6 percent one year ago. In viewers 18-49, Jimmy's lead over "Late Late Show" this season is 14 percent (713,000 vs. 623,000), up from a 13 percent margin at this point last season.

Last week at 1:35 a.m. ET, encore telecasts of "Last Call with Carson Daly" were up by 13 percent versus the same week last year in total viewers, with 914,000 persons versus the year-ago 812,000.
