FOX Weekly Ratings - "American Idol" Is the Week's Highest-Rated and Most-Watched TV Show

NATIONAL NIELSEN RATINGS FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 2 - 8, 2012

AMERICAN IDOL IS THE WEEK'S HIGHEST-RATED AND MOST-WATCHED TV SHOW

AMERICAN IDOL's Wednesday performance topped the week as TV's No. 1 show among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and Total Viewers, and outperformed NBC's "The Voice" for the fourth consecutive week. FOX won the week outright among Adults 18-34 and Teens. In fact, excluding sports, FOX also ranked #1 among Adults 18-49 last week.

Season to date, FOX steadily remains the No. 1 network among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. Excluding sports, this week FOX had:

· 6 of the Top 20 programs among Adults 18-49: AMERICAN IDOL-Wed (No. 1), AMERICAN IDOL-Thurs (No. 4), BONES (No. 14), NEW GIRL (No. 17 tie), TOUCH (No. 17 tie) and HOUSE (No. 17 tie).

· 9 of the Top 20 programs among Adults 18-34: AMERICAN IDOL-Wed (No. 1), NEW GIRL (No. 4 tie), AMERICAN IDOL-Thurs (No. 4 tie), FAMILY GUY (No. 7), BONES (No. 8), HOUSE (No. 10 tie), AMERICAN DAD (No. 10 tie), BOB'S BURGERS (No. 12 tie) and THE SIMPSONS (No. 12 tie).

FOX delivered its highest rated Monday night in nearly two months among Adults 18-49, excluding sports.

The Monday premiere of BONES at 8p posted a 2.5/7 among Adults 18-49, up +4% from its last original (2.4/6 on 1/12/12) and up +24% among Adults 18-34 (2.1 vs. 1.7).

BONES was the highest-rated drama of the night in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. In the 8pm hour, BONES ranked third among Adults 18-49 and was No. 2 among Adults 18-34.

At 9pm, HOUSE delivered a 2.3/6 among Adults 18-49, up +10% from its last original (2.1/6 on 3/19/12).

TUESDAY

FOX ranked No. 1 on Tuesday night among Adults 18-34 and Teens, marking the twelfth consecutive Tuesday victory among Adults 18-34.

At 8pm RAISING HOPE posted a 1.6/5, up +7% from the previous week, and won its half hour among Adults 18-34 and Teens.

An encore RAISING HOPE followed at 8:30pm with a 1.4/4 and ranked No. 2 in the 8:30pm half hour among Adults 18-34 and #1 in Teens (tie).

At 9pm, NEW GIRL posted a 2.3/6 and ranked No. 1 among Adults 18-34, Teens and Men 18-49. BREAKING IN closed the night with a 1.3/3.

WEDNESDAY

8:00-10:00 AMERICAN IDOL: (Adults 18-49: 4.9/14, 17.1 Mil Total Viewers)

The AMERICAN IDOL Top 8 performance show won the night for FOX among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and Teens. FOX beat its nearest competitor for the night by +69% in Adults 18-49 (4.9 vs. 2.9 for CBS) and by +51% in Total Viewers (17.1 vs. 11.3 for CBS).

FOX has now won 12 Wednesdays in a row in Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers.

AMERICAN IDOL has outperformed Monday's telecast of The Voice for the fourth week in a row in Adults 18-49 (+20%, 4.9 vs. 4.1) and in Total Viewers (+58%, 17.1 vs. 10.8 Mil.)

AMERICAN IDOL was the highest rated program of the night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and Teens and outperformed the No. 2 program of the night by +63% in Adults 18-49 (4.9 vs. 3.0 for Criminal Minds), +94% among Adults 18-34 (3.3 vs. 1.7 for Happy Endings) and +41% in Total Viewers (17.1 vs. 12.1 Mil for CSI).

THURSDAY

8:00-9:01 AMERICAN IDOL: (Adults 18-49: 3.9/13, 14.3 Mil Total Viewers)

9:01-10:00 TOUCH: (Adults 18-49: 2.3/6, 7.2 Mil Total Viewers)

8:00-10:00 FOX PRIME: (Adults 18-49: 3.1/9, 10.8 Mil Total Viewers)

FOX won the night in Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. FOX beat its nearest competitor for the night by +3% in Adults 18-49 (3.1 vs. 3.0 for CBS) and +11% in Adults 18-34 (2.0 vs. 1.8 for CBS). FOX has now ranked No. 1 for 12 Thursdays in a row in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

With television usage down -6% in Adults 18-49 from 8-10pm versus the previous week, AMERICAN IDOL posted a 3.9/13. AMERICAN IDOL was the highest rated program of the night in Total Viewers, Women 18-49 (tie) and Teens and outperformed the No. 2 program of the night in Total Viewers by +4% (14.3 vs. 13.7 Mil for Person of Interest).

The AMERICAN IDOL results show beat the first results show of The Voice (on Tuesday 4/3/12) by +22% in Adults 18-49 (3.9 vs. 3.2) and +68% in Total Viewers (14.3 vs. 8.5 Mil.)

AMERICAN IDOL won its 8pm hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and Total Viewers and outperformed its nearest competitors in the hour by +11% in Adults 18-49 (3.9 vs. 3.5 for Big Bang Theory/Rules of Engagement) and +30% in Total Viewers (14.3 vs. 11.0 Mil for Big Bang Theory/Rules of Engagement.) Also, AMERICAN IDOL grew in its second half hour versus its first by +29% in Adults 18-49 (4.4 vs. 3.4) and +27% in Total Viewers (16.0 vs. 12.6 Mil.)

At 9pm, TOUCH posted a 2.3/7 in Adults 18-49. Compared to FOX's prior season average in the Thu 9-10p time slot with regular originals, TOUCH up +17% in Adults 18-49 (2.8 vs. 2.4) and +19% in Total Viewers (9.3 vs. 7.8 Mil.) so far this season.
