PREMIERE OF SYFY'S "TOTAL BLACKOUT" - HOSTED BY JALEEL WHITE - BECOMES MOST WATCHED NEW REALITY SERIES AMONG ADULTS 25-54 IN NEARLY A YEAR

SCARES UP 1.3 MILLION VIEWERS

NEW YORK - April 26, 2012 - Syfy's new unscripted competition series Total Blackout, hosted by Jaleel White (Family Matters, Dancing with the Stars), became the channel's most watched reality series premiere among Adults 25-54 since June 2011 during its Wednesday, April 25 telecast, averaging 747,000 in the demo.

During its 10-11PM (ET/PT) time period, Total Blackout scared 1.33 million total viewers and 678,000 Adults 18-49. Total Blackout grew 1 percent from its Ghost Hunters' 9PM lead-in among Adults18-49 and rose 23 percent from Ghost Hunters among Adults 18-34.

With 10K exposures, Total Blackout delivered Syfy's second best unscripted series premiere ever in social activity since Trendrr Measurement began.

Led by Total Blackout and Ghost Hunters, Syfy was the #4 cable entertainment network in 8-11PM prime for Adults 25-54 and was the #9 cable entertainment network among Adults18-49.

Total Blackout is a half-hour, extreme game show in which contestants battle each other and their fears in a series of challenges. However, all the challenges are played in complete darkness. There are no lights, no blindfolds and no-holds barred as the players face their anxieties and unexpected surprises in a series of nerve-wracking games.

The international hit series is produced by FremantleMedia North America (American Idol, The X Factor) and was created by Henrik Nielsen (Can You Duet?, Danish versions of The X Factor, Got Talent and Pop Idol). Nielsen and Jeff Apploff (Million Dollar Money Drop, Don't Forget the Lyrics) serve as executive producers. Jack Martin (Who's Still Standing, Deal or No Deal) is co-executive producer.

Syfy is a media destination for imagination-based entertainment. With year round acclaimed original series, events, blockbuster movies, classic science fiction and fantasy programming, a dynamic Web site (www.Syfy.com), and a portfolio of adjacent business (Syfy Ventures), Syfy is a passport to limitless possibilities. Originally launched in 1992 as SCI FI Channel, and currently in more than 98 million homes, Syfy is a network of NBCUniversal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. (Syfy. Imagine greater.)
