"Dateline NBC" Matches Its Highest 18-49 Rating Since June 1, Ties for #1 from 10-11 p.m.
NBC spins the numbers for Friday, July 20.

Friday Primetime Results:

* From 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) matched its highest Friday 18-49 rating since June 1. "Dateline" equaled its 18-49 rating of the prior week and was up week to week by 7 percent in adults 25-54 (to a 1.6 rating from a 1.5) and up 2 percent in total viewers (4.606 million vs. 4.519 million). In its two-hour time period, "Dateline" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and total viewers and tied for #1 in adults 25-54. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" grew by 33 percent in both adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 0.9) and adults 25-54 (1.6 vs. 1.2) and by 37 percent or 1.4 million persons in total viewers (4.9 million vs. 3.5 million).

* For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 (with a 1.3 rating each for "Dateline" and ABC's "20/20") and adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. a 1.7 for "20/20") and was #1 among those networks in total viewers (5.0 million vs. 4.9 million for CBS's second-place "Blue Bloods" encore).

* At 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Whitney" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers overall. At 8:30, a rebroadcast of "Community" delivered a 0.3/1 in 18-49 and 1.3 million viewers overall.

In late-night metered-market households Friday night:

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.7/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.9/5; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.3/8; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4 with an encore.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.4/2; "Nightline," 1.1/5; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3 with an encore.

* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
