"The 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards" Scores Biggest Audience Since 1998 and Tops the CMAs as the #1 Country Music Event of the Season for First Time Since 1988

Led by THE BIG BANG THEORY, the CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS and THE 48TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, CBS was first in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 for the third straight week, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 7, Week 28 of the 2012-2013 television season.

CBS had the top five broadcasts in viewers, as well as six of the top 10 - more than all the other networks combined. CBS also had 12 of the top 20 broadcasts of the week.

Among adults 18-49, CBS had the top broadcast of the week (CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY - 2), the top comedy (THE BIG BANG THEORY) and two of the top three dramas (CRIMINAL MINDS and PERSON OF INTEREST). CBS had five of the top 10 broadcast in adults 18-49 (CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY - 2, THE BIG BANG THEORY, CBS NCAA BASKETBALL BRIDGE SHOW, THE 48TH ANNUAL ACM AWARDS and TWO AND A HALF MEN).

Among adults 25-54, CBS had the top broadcast of the week (THE BIG BANG THEORY), the top drama (PERSON OF INTEREST), and six of the top 10 programs (THE BIG BANG THEORY, CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY - 2, THE 48TH ANNUAL ACM AWARDS, TWO AND A HALF MEN, CBS NCAA BASKETBALL BRIDGE SHOW and PERSON OF INTEREST).

THE 48TH ANNUAL ACM AWARDS posted its largest audience since 1998 in viewers and its best demo deliveries since the early 2000s. THE ACM AWARDS beat the CMAs in the same season for the first time since 1988 in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY - 2 posted its largest audience and best delivery in key demos since 2005.

For the week in viewers: CBS (11.26m), ABC (6.70m), NBC (5.24m) and FOX (5.15m). Season-to-date: CBS (12.15m), ABC (7.86m), FOX (7.10m) and NBC (7.07m)

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (3.6/09) and adults 18-49 (2.7/08) for the third consecutive week. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (3.9/10) and adults 18-49 (3.0/08).

-- On Thursday, CBS was first in households (8.5/14), viewers (13.55m), adults 25-54 (4.5/11) and adults 18-49 (3.1/09).

THE BIG BANG THEORY (8:00-8:31 PM) was first in households (10.3/17), viewers (17.24m), adults 25-54 (6.9/20), adults 18-49 (5.2/17) and adults 18-34 (3.6/14). THE BIG BANG THEORY beat NBC, ABC, FOX and CW combined in both adults 25-54 (vs. 6.4/18, +8%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 5.1/17, +2%). Compared to the last first-run episode on March 14, THE BIG BANG THEORY was up +5% in households, (from 9.8/17), +8% in both adults 25-54 (from 6.4/18) and adults 18-49 (from 4.8/16), +9% in adults 18-34 (from 3.3/13) and added +1.24m viewers (from 16.00m, +8%). THE BIG BANG THEORY was the night's #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

TWO AND A HALF MEN (8:31-9:01 PM) was first in households (8.5/14), viewers (13.71m), adults 25-54 (5.4/14) and adults 18-49 (3.9/12). Compared to the last first-run episode on March 14, TWO AND A HALF MEN was up +10% in households (from 7.7/13), +15% in adults 25-54 (from 4.8/12), +15% in adults 18-49 (from 3.4/10) and added +1.48m viewers (from 12.23m, +12%).

PERSON OF INTEREST (9:01-10:01 PM) was first in households (9.1/14), viewers (14.57m), adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and a close second in adults 18-49 (2.7/08, -0.1 behind ABC).

ELEMENTARY (10:01-11:00 PM) was first in households (6.9/11), viewers (10.48m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (3.1/08, with ABC) and second in adults 18-49 (2.1/06).

-- On Friday, CBS was first in households (5.8/10) and viewers (9.07m), was tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.1/06, with ABC) and second in adults 18-49 (1.3/05).

UNDERCOVER BOSS was first in households (5.5/10), viewers (8.52m), adults 25-54 (2.4/08) and adults 18-49 (1.7/06). Compared to the last first-run episode (on March 8), UNDERCOVER BOSS was up +15% in households (from 4.8/08), +14% in adults 25-54 (from 2.1/06), +21% in adults 18-49 (from 1.4/05) and added +1.19m viewers (from 7.33m, +16%). UNDERCOVER BOSS was Friday's #2 program in viewers and households behind BLUE BLOODS.

BLUE BLOODS was first in households (7.0/12), viewers (10.99m), adults 25-54 (2.3/06) and second in adults 18-49 (1.5/05). Compared to the last first-run episode (on March 15), BLUE BLOODS was up +3% in households (from 6.8/12), +5% in adults 25-54 (from 2.2/06), even in adults 18-49 and added +480,000 viewers (from 10.51m, +5%). BLUE BLOODS was Friday's #1 program in viewers and households.

-- CBS won Saturday night in households (10.0/18), viewers (16.83m), adults 25-54 (6.2/18), adults 18-49 (5.4/18), adults 18-34 (4.8/19), men 25-54 (8.0/23), men 18-49 (7.1/24) and men 18-34 (6.2/25). CBS won every half-hour Saturday in households, viewers, key men and adult demos. Compared to the Final Four Saturday last year (March 31, 2012), CBS was up +9% in households, +5% in both adults 25-54 and viewers, +2% in adults 18-49, +7% in men 25-54, +3% in men 18-49, down -2% in adults 18-34 and -3% in men 18-34.

CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY - 2 (S) (9:11-11:38 PM) posted a 10.2/18 in households with 17.10m viewers and 6.5/18 in adults 25-54, 5.7/18 in adults 18-49, 5.0/19 in adults 18-34, 8.4/23 in men 25-54, 7.5/24 in men 18-49 and 6.5/26 in men 18-34 - first in these measures from 9:00-11:00 PM. Compared to the same game last year (which aired 8:57-11:22 PM), CBS was up +6% in both households and men 25-54, +5% in adults 25-54, +4% in both adults 18-49 and men 18-49, even in both adults 18-34 and men 18-34 and +3% in viewers. CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY - 2 posted its best households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49, men 25-54 and men 18-49 deliveries since 2005.

-- On Sunday, CBS was first in households (8.5/14), viewers (14.01m), adults 25-54 (4.6/11) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10) for the sixth consecutive Sunday and the seventh time in eight weeks. CBS won every half-hour in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
