"Under The Dome" Is Week's #1 Entertainment Broadcast; "Big Brother" Notches Summer Highs

"UNDER THE DOME" IS THE WEEK'S #1 ENTERTAINMENT BROADCAST

"Big Brother" Sunday Edition Delivers Largest Audience on Any Night This Summer, While Wednesday and Thursday Broadcasts Score Nightly Highs

UNDER THE DOME was the #1 entertainment broadcast and BIG BROTHER delivered its largest audiences of the summer on all three nights, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 8, Week 50 of the 2012-2013 television year.

UNDER THE DOME SPECIAL posted CBS's best viewer (11.15m) and adults 25-54 deliveries (3.5/09) in the time period since July 29 and CBS's best adults 18-49 (2.7/08) rating since August 5.

BIG BROTHER SUNDAY delivered the largest audience on any night this summer (7.27m), while BIG BROTHER WEDNESDAY and BIG BROTHER THURSDAY both notched nightly highs in viewers and adults 25-54 while matching its best adult 18-49 ratings. All three broadcasts placed in the top 12 in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

For the week in viewers: CBS (5.74m), NBC (10.01m), FOX (4.91m) and ABC (4.15m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS averaged 1.7/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.2/04 in adults 18-49. Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +13% in both viewers and adults 25-54 and even in adults 18-49.

CBS Weekly Highlights:

UNDER THE DOME SPECIAL (S) was first viewers (11.15m), adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.7/08). UNDER THE DOME SPECIAL posted CBS's best deliveries in the time period in viewers and adults 25-54 since July 29, best adults 18-49 rating since August 5. Compared to last week, UNDER THE DOME SPECIAL was up +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.4/09), +8% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/07) and added +30,000 viewers (from 11.12m).

BIG BROTHER WEDNESDAY was first in viewers (6.75m), adults 25-54 (2.9/08) and adults 18-49 (2.3/08). Compared to last week, BIG BROTHER was up +12% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/08), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 2.1/07) and added +390,000 viewers (from 6.36m, +6%). BIG BROTHER posted season-high Wednesday viewer and adults 25-54 deliveries and matched its best Wednesday adults 18-49 performance.

BIG BROTHER THURSDAY was second in viewers (7.24m), adults 25-54 (3.0/07) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07). BIG BROTHER posted season Thursday highs in viewers and adults 25-54 and matched Thursday highs this season in adults 18-49. Compared to last week (when there were preemptions due to preseason football), BIG BROTHER was up +36% in adults 25-54 (from 2.2/06), +39% in adults 18-49 (from 1.8/05) and added +2.19m viewers (from 5.05m, +43%).

BIG BROTHER SUNDAY (8:52-9:51 PM) was second in viewers (7.27m), adults 25-54 (2.9/06) and adults 18-49 (2.3/06) in the 9:00 PM hour. BIG BROTHER posted the program's largest audience of the summer for any night. Compared to last week, BIG BROTHER was up +26% in adults 25-54 (from 2.3/07), +28% in adults 18-49 (from 1.8/07) and added +1.27m viewers (from 6.00m, +21%).
