"Dateline NBC" Is the #1 Non-Sports Show of the Night with Its Top Friday Viewership Since March 2011
NBC spins the numbers for Friday, January 3.

[via press release from NBC]

Correction: My apologies, "Dateline" is TIED for the #1 non-sports rating of the night in 18-49 with ABC's 10-11 p.m. "20/20" (1.5 each). Sorry for the error.

Friday Primetime Results:

· "Dateline NBC" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) reported its highest Friday adult 18-49 rating in the past year, since also delivering a 1.5 on Jan. 4, 2013. Last night's "Dateline NBC" tied for the #1 non-sports rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 with ABC's 10-11 p.m. "20/20."

· In total viewers, it was the top Friday "Dateline" in more than two and a half years (since March 25, 2011, 8.150 million). "Dateline" is currently the #1 Big 4 show of the night in total viewers with 7.854 million.

· In adults 25-54, "Dateline" (2.2 rating) scored the top Big 4 rating of the night, excluding sports, while achieving the show's top Friday rating in 25-54 since Dec. 28, 2012.

· "Grimm" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall at 9 p.m. ET) jumped 17% versus its prior original in 18-49 (1.2/4 on Dec. 13), an episode that was heavily time-shifted, growing by +118% going from L+SD to L+7 (see details below). Last night's telecast was also up by 15% in total viewers versus the prior "Grimm" original three weeks ago (5.597 million vs. 4.884 million).

· "Grimm" tied for the #3 non-sports rating of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49 (matching ABC's "Shark Tank" encore), behind only "Dateline NBC" and "20/20." In the time period, "Grimm" tied for the #1 non-sports rating on those networks with "Shark Tank" and was #1 outright on the Big 4 in women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

· L+7 Time-Shifting: Note that the prior "Grimm" telecast grew by +118% going from these next-day "live plus same day" results to "live plus seven day" (to a 2.57 from a 1.18 on Dec. 13). The most recent "Dracula" grew by 68% (to a 1.91 from a 1.14 on Dec. 6).

· With its first telecast in four weeks, "Dracula" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall at 10 p.m. ET, matching its 18-49 rating from three of the show's prior four telecasts.

· L+7 Time-Shifting: Note that the previous "Dracula" grew by +68% going from these next-day "live plus same day" results to "live plus seven day" (to a 1.91 from a 1.14 on Dec. 6).
