"THE TONIGHT SHOW" SEES YEAR-TO-YEAR GROWTH, SCORING ITS HIGHEST 18-49 RATING FOR A WEEK OF REBROADCASTS IN NEARLY THREE YEARS

Fallon Defeats Kimmel for Week of April 14-18 Despite ABC Competitor's 'Scandal'-Fueled Original Episode

NEW YORK - April 24, 2014 - A week of encore telecasts of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" has generated growth of +19% in adults 18-49 versus a year-ago week of "Tonight" rebroadcasts - increasing to a 0.94 rating from a 0.79.

Fallon remained dominant among 11:35 p.m. ET talk shows for the week of April 14-18, generating "Tonight's" highest 18-49 rating for a week of encores in nearly three years, since the week of May 30-June 3, 2011 (0.99).

Fallon's 0.94 rating in adults 18-49 won by a 32% margin over ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (0.71), which was boosted by a season-high rating from an original telecast Thursday that featured coverage of ABC's "Scandal" season finale airing that night at 10 p.m. ET. "Kimmel" was in rebroadcast during the rest of last week. Versus CBS's week of "Late Show with David Letterman" encores, Fallon led by a 74% margin (0.94 vs. 0.54).

At 12:35 a.m. ET, an encore week of "Late Night with Seth Meyers" delivered bigger audiences than CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in all key ratings measures and generated a 25% margin over the "Late Late Show" originals in adults 18-49 (with a 0.50 rating vs. a 0.40). The week of "Late Night" rebroadcasts finished within 0.06 of a rating point of the prior week's 0.56 rating for four originals and a Friday encore.
