Live + 3: ABC's "SHIELD" Scores Bigger Playback Lifts Year to Year - "Forever" Builds from Monday to Tuesday in Adults 18-49

ABC's Live + 3 Day data for season premiere Tuesday (9/23/14):

ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. opener went up to 8.9 million viewers (+48% - up +2.9 mil from 6.0 mil L+SD) and a 3.2 in Adults 18-49 (+52% - up +1.1 from 2.1 L+SD). With bigger playback lift than its CBS drama competition in the hour (52% vs. 28%), S.H.I.E.L.D. moved up to tie the NCIS-driven debut of NCIS: New Orleans at a 3.2 rating in AD18-49 in the 9pm time slot, after trailing by 4-tenths in the L+SD numbers (2.1 vs. 2.5). At 52%, SHIELD delivered a bigger lift than any of its Tuesday drama competitors in Adults 18-49.

ABC's Tuesday premiere of Forever grew to 9.7 million viewers (+41% - up +2.8 mil from 6.9 mil L+SD) and a 2.5 in Adults 18-49 (+39% - up +0.7 from 1.8 L+SD). In a rare feat among new series, Forever built from its first telecast to its second telecast among Adults 18-49 (from 2.4 rating on Monday to a 2.5 rating on Tuesday).

ABC's DWTS: The Results grew to 11.0 million viewers (+10% - up +1.0 mil from 10.0 mil L+SD) and a 2.0 in Adults 18-49 (+18% - up +0.3 from 1.7 L+SD).

ABC's Forever preview surged to 11.4 million viewers (+33% - up +2.8 mil from 8.6 mil L+SD) and a 2.4 in Adults 18-49 (+41% - up +0.7 from 1.7 L+SD).

ABC's Dancing with the Stars built to 14.3 million viewers (+12% - up +1.5 mil from 12.8 mil L+SD) and a 2.6 in Adults 18-49 (+18% - up +0.4 from 2.2 L+SD). For its 2nd consecutive telecast this season, Dancing saw bigger a L3 lift among young adults than the year-ago telecast (+18% vs. +13%), as the show now retained 100% of its delivery year to year (after being down 1-tenth in L+SD).
