THE SERIES PREMIERE OF "JANE THE VIRGIN" BLESSES THE CW WITH ITS BEST MONDAY IN NEARLY THREE YEARS

JANE Delivers The CW's Largest Audience in its Time Period Since February 2012

October 14, 2014 (Burbank, CA) - Last night's series premiere of the most critically-acclaimed new show of the season, JANE THE VIRGIN, drew 1.63 million viewers, building on its lead-in by 22% and delivering the most viewers in its time period (Monday 9:00-10:00pm) in more than two and a half years, since 2/13/12, according to preliminary Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Monday, October 13, 2014.

JANE also scored the best adults 18-49 (0.6/2) and women 18-49 (0.7/2) ratings in its time period since in nearly two years (12/17/12, GOSSP GIRL series finale).

JANE doubled last season's time period average in adults 18-49 (+100% 0.6/2), and women 18-34 (+100% 0.6/2), and nearly doubled it in total viewers (+90%).

THE ORIGINALS (8:00-9:00pm) held virtually even from its season premiere last week, remaining flat in adults 18-49 (0.7/2).

With one of the network's main goals this season to build Mondays, the new lineup of THE ORIGINALS and JANE THE VIRGIN combined to give The CW its most watched Monday night (1.48 million) in nearly three years (12/5/11), and its best Monday adults 18-49 (0.6/2) rating in nearly two years (12/17/12).

Versus this same Monday last season, The CW was up by +51% in total viewers, +50% in adults 18-34 (0.6/2), and +50% in A18-49.

With delayed viewing factored in, the premiere of JANE THE VIRGIN is estimated to gain +45% in total viewers, +45% in adults 18-34, +51% in women 18-34, and +52% in adults 18-49, while the second episode of THE ORIGINALS is projected to increase by +55% in total viewers, +50% in adults 18-34, +55% in women 18-34, and +60% in adults 18-49, in complete Live + 7 Day averages versus Live + Same Day alone.
