Live + 7 Day Ratings: ABC Airs Most of Premiere Week's Top Playback Gainers in Adults 18-49
ABC further spins the numbers for the week of September 21-27.

L+7 Ratings: ABC Airs Most of Premiere Week's Top Playback Gainers in AD18-49

Live + 7 Day Ratings for 2015-16 Premiere Week (Week #1):

ABC claimed 6 of the Top 10 biggest broadcast gainers in Adults 18-49, more than Fox (2), CBS (1) and NBC (2) combined: Modern Family (+2.2 rating points) - #2, Scandal (+1.8) - #5, How to Get Away with Murder (+1.7) - #6, Grey's Anatomy (+1.6) - #7, Quantico (+1.5) - #8 and black-ish (+1.4) - #9. The season opener of Modern Family (+2.2 rating points) emerged as the week's #1 comedy gainer among Adults 18-49, ahead of CBS' The Big Bang Theory premiere (+2.1). The series debut of Quantico finished Premiere Week as the #2 freshman gainer in TV playback among young adults (+1.5 rating points), behind only NBC's Blindspot debut.

In the non-sports Live+7 averages, ABC shot up a full rating point (+56%) over its Live + Same Day number to a 2.8 Adult 18-49 rating, making the Net the week's #1 biggest gainer in TV playback, with Fox, CBS and NBC each picking up 8-tenths in playback.

On a percentage basis, the season openers of ABC's Castle and Nashville tied as the week's #1 gainer on the major networks with Adults 18-49 (+83%).

Among Total Viewers, ABC had 4 of the Top 10 largest overall gainers, with all 4 programs adding on at least +4.5 million viewers to their L+SD tallies: Quantico (+5.01 million) - #4, Modern Family (+4.81 million) - #5, HTGAWM (+4.62 million) - #6 and Scandal (+4.45 million) - #7.

All of ABC's returning series saw bigger percentage gains during Premiere Week among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: black-ish (+58% vs. +45%), Castle (+83% vs. +43%), The Goldbergs (+50% vs. +42%), Grey's Anatomy (+57% vs. +48%), HTGAWM (+65% vs. +61%), Last Man Standing (+64% vs. +46%), The Middle (+43% vs. +38%), Modern Family (+69% vs. +58%), Nashville (+83% vs. +71%), Once Upon a Time (+61% vs. +29%), Scandal (+55% vs. +45%) and Shark Tank (+41% vs. +39%). Please note: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered during the second week of the season.
