"The Wiz Live!" Delivers the Highest-Rated Non-Sports Thursday for Any Network in More Than a Year
NBC spins the numbers for Thursday, December 3.

Fast-Official Thursday Primetime Results:

"The Wiz Live!" (3.4 rating in 18-49, 11.5 million viewers overall from 8-10:45 p.m. ET):

· Delivered the highest-rated non-sports Thursday for any network in more than a year, since Sept. 25, 2014 (ABC, 3.6 for the season premieres of "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal" and the series premiere of "How To Get Away With Murder").

· Captured NBC's second-highest-rated non-sports Thursday in more than five years, since March 4, 2010 (3.5), trailing over that span only 2013's "The Sound of Music Live!" (4.6).

· In total viewers, it's the most-watched non-sports Thursday for any network since Feb. 19 (CBS, 12.442 million with the series finale of "Two and a Half Men" and the series premiere of "The Odd Couple.")

· It's NBC's second-best non-sports Thursday in six years since April 2, 2009 (14.496 million the night of the "ER" series finale), trailing over that span only 2013's "The Sound of Music Live!" (18.624 million).

· In kids 2-11 (3.2 rating), "The Wiz Live!" generated NBC's highest-rated night for any night of the week, excluding sports, in 11 years, since Nov. 22, 2004 (3.2 with a special Thanksgiving "Fear Factor" and "$25 Million Dollar Hoax") and matching NBC's top non-sports night among kids since the night of the "Friends" series finale, May 6, 2004 (5.5).

· Year-ago results were a 2.4 in 18-49 and 9.211 million viewers for "Peter Pan Live!" and two years ago, "The Sound of Music Live!" averaged a 4.6 in 18-49 and 18.624 million viewers

· Is up +128% versus NBC's Thursday season average (11.498 million vs. 5.048 million, L+SD excluding sports).

· Nearly tripled NBC's Thursday non-sports season average in 18-49 (3.4 vs. 1.2, L+SD excluding sports, +183%).

· Versus high-rated NFL competition on CBS, is currently #1 for the night in all key adult-female demos and kids 2-11.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday Night:

"Tonight" delivered the show's highest 18-49 rating for a night without major primetime sports since Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 (also a 1.4).

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 3.4/8; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.7/6 with an encore delayed by an NFL overrun; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.0/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.4/7; "Late Show," 0.5/3 with an encore delayed by an NFL overrun; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.6/6 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/4, delayed by an NFL overrun). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/5 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/3, delayed by an NFL overrun).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.5/4 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
