L+7 Ratings: ABC's Nashville Hits a New Series High in TV Playback in AD18-49 - Quantico Builds by Triple-Digits for the 8th Time

Please note: ABC's entire TGIT line-up is on hiatus until February, while Once Upon a Time will return in March.

Despite Once Upon a Time, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder being on hiatus, ABC still delivered 6 of the Top 10 gainers in TV playback on the broadcast networks among Adults 18-49 (the most for any network): Modern Family (+1.7 rating points) - #2, Quantico (+1.3) - #3, black-ish and Nashville (+1.0) tied for #7, while The Goldbergs and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (+0.9) tied for #9.

On a percentage basis, ABC claimed the week's Top 2 broadcast gainers in Adults 18-49 with the winter finales of Nashville (+125%) - #1 and Quantico (+100%) - #2. In fact, Nashville scored its biggest-ever L+7 increase among young adults, while Quantico delivered triple-digit playback growth for the 8th time this season.

Season-to-Date TV Playback (9/21/15-12/13/15):

Based on L+7 ratings through 12 weeks of the 2015-16 season, ABC is #1 in Nielsen's non-sports Adult 18-49 averages (2.3 rating), leading NBC by 5% (2.2), CBS by 10% (2.1) and Fox by 15% (2.0).

Based on TV playback data, ABC claims 5 of the Top 10 biggest broadcast gainers among Adults 18-49 (the most for any network): Modern Family (+1.9 rating points) - #3, How to Get Away with Murder (+1.7) - #5, Scandal (+1.6) - #6, while Quantico and Grey's Anatomy (+1.5) tie for #7.

Quantico is the season's biggest playback gainer on the broadcast networks on a percentage basis, soaring +86% in Total Viewers (5.1 million to 9.5 million) and +100% in Adults 18-49 (1.5 rating to 3.0 rating) over its L+SD numbers. In fact, ABC has the #1 broadcast gainer among young adults on Monday with Castle (+82%), the #1 gainer on the major nets on Wednesday with Nashville (+82%) and the #1 broadcast gainer on Sunday with Quantico (+100%).

Among Adults 18-49 in the L+7 ratings, ABC has the top comedies on Tuesday with The Muppets (2.2 rating) and Fresh Off the Boat (2.2) tying for #1, 3 of the Top 4 highest-rated broadcast shows on Wednesday with Modern Family (4.7), The Goldbergs (3.2) and black-ish (3.0), the Top 3 series on Thursday with Scandal (4.1), Grey's Anatomy (3.9) and HTGAWM (3.8), the Top 2 shows on Friday with Shark Tank (2.2) and Last Man Standing (1.9) and the Top 2 broadcast series on Sunday with Quantico (3.0) and Once Upon a Time (2.6).

Nearly all of ABC's returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: black-ish (+58% vs. +42%), Castle (+82% vs. +65%), DWTS (+22% vs. +20%), The Goldbergs (+45% vs. +41%), Grey's Anatomy (+63% vs. +60%), How to Get Away with Murder (+81% vs. +73%), Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+79% vs. +76%), The Middle (+40% vs. +30%), Modern Family (+68% vs. +65%), Nashville (+82% vs. +71%), Once Upon a Time (+63% vs. +48%) and Scandal (+64% vs. +50%).
